Re: June 3rd - Fly Navy III
Found an interesting bit of info in Aeroplane Monthly, saying it is hoped TBM Avenger F-AZJA in Fleet Air Arm markings will attend. It almost happened last year but was cancelled.
That would be quite something!

This show needs something like that. I was thinking about it the other day and if you run down the list of stuff that's previously either attended or been listed, there's a chunk of stuff that is unavailable or in doubt this season...
Kennet Seafire - in bits last I heard
Kennet Skyraider - didn't get further than engine runs last year
Seafire III - for sale, might affect participation?
Sea Vixen - out of action
Swordfish - flown yet this year?
Huey - hasn't flown this year
Wasp - insurance problems cancelled Abingdon appearance
There's still the TFC fleet, Catalina, Gazelles, Harvard, Nimrods etc that could/should be there though.
Maybe they could rotate this theme with Army and Air Force themes? Perhaps a US Air Day too.... Mustangs, P-47, P-40s, B-17, B-25...

Believe it has
The insurance issues for the Wasp were sudden changes made 48 hours before the display, I'd be surprised if this precludes display flying for the entire season

Or get an overseas goody like the Alize or Paris and Zephyr to make an appearance.
It would be nice for the Royal Navy to display one of their current helicopters at the show. Hopefully the Anson will fly representing Navy machines and they could always link in a Vampire, Hunter or F-35 The latter would keep Dano away at least.

Oh yes please. Seen two or three at Oshkosh, but would love to see a top-side at Old Warden!

Re: June 3rd - Fly Navy III
There's at least two on that list that are highly doubtful, namely the Seafire and Skyraider - unless it's not the Kennet one.
Re: June 3rd - Fly Navy III
A tremendous list as ever. I too am skeptical the Seafire and Skyraider are going to be ready, and was hopeful of TFCs Fury joining in the fun, but the Avenger more then makes up for that, a wonderful catch

Morane Saulnier is on the list, but wasn't it this aircraft that landed on a Sidmouth beach!
Or am I confused?

The one that landed on the beach in Devon is a different example. G-MOSA is the one that will appear I would have thought, same as in 2016.

Wasp - insurance problems cancelled Abingdon appearance
This was, as I understand it, an issue specific to Abingdon and shouldn't affect any other displays going forward.

That's like saying there's a Hawker or a Boeing or a Lockheed on the list- there's a lot of Morane Saulnier types around- TypeN, 406, 505, 230, 315, Paris, Alcyon, Rallye etc etc...
You caaan't trust the system... Maaan!

Re: June 3rd - Fly Navy III
Another sensational FN line-up.
I know the chances are slim, but really hope the Skyraider is able to make it this time! In addition, what's this about a Grumman Avenger appearing - is this being shipped over for the summer?!

Very disappointing about the Avenger. Understandable about the Seafire, if it has been sold.
Can anyone update what the situation is with the other Seafire SX336, after its wheels up landing a few years ago. A search engine hasn't proved very helpful.

It was flying again after that incident - it made a few appearances at Old Warden in 2015. I believe there were engine troubles after that, the permit to fly expired and it was roaded out to Old Warden early last year IIRC.
