Re: Newark Air Museum News 2018
The 26th edition of Wrecks & Relics is now on sale in the Museum Shop.
Info about the NAM Shop can be found in here, and if you plan to visit to W&R, then why not pick up a copy of the new RAF Balderton book as well?

We’ve just emailed out the reunion information to 58 pre-registered for service personnel attendees at our Tribute to the V-Force event on Saturday 19th May; only 2 bounced emails!
Please get in touch if you were expecting an email & it hasn’t arrived; there’s still time to register!!

Re: Newark Air Museum News 2018
Given the outpouring of for 'splinter-camo' Viggens today, I would like to take a few soundings from the forum members.
The Viggen Valet project at Newark is drawing towards a conclusion and we've been pondering the possibility of perhaps bringing it outside for a few days, once completed. This is still just at a discussion phase, with the museum's Restoration Manager and amongst the trustees, and is likely to be dependant on a prolonged period of forecast good weather.
Would there be any interest in such a move?
Progress on the 'paint refreshment' project can be seen in here! http://www.newarkairmuseum.org/Viggen_Valet

It'd certainly do a lot to entice me up there - for the first time!

Any chance we could see it lit up at night as well?

Re: Newark Air Museum News 2018
Thank you for the feedback, I was beginning to think that there might not be any interest.
At the moment it is still very much work in progress; if anything happens it is likely to be during the summer months, which means we might struggle for a night shoot due to the really late nights. However please leave it with me to see what if anything can be arranged.

Re: Newark Air Museum News 2018
See you both for the V-Force event on Saturday!
A Viggen night-shoot is likely to be further away than a possible venture out into the summer Notts air & please remember that both helicopters are at an early stage of 'work in progress'!
That said, the Chinook did seat 79 schoolchildren yesterday in just three separate sessions - great education engagement!

Re: Newark Air Museum News 2018
Quick reminder that during our Tribute to the V-Force event tomorrow we’ll be undertaking (subject to serviceability) a Rover APU engine run on Vulcan XM594; we’re also due to have a BBMF Dakota flypast as well (also subject to the usual BBMF caveats & final BBMF call that I’m expecting today).
Addendum: BBMF now confirmed, but you'll need to be early to catch the Dakota, we're their first tasking of a busy day!
There’s around 60 former V-Force personnel due to attend and lots of visiting displays!
Here’s the quick guide to what’s happening!! http://www.newarkairmuseum.org/V-Force_ ... uick_Guide

Re: Newark Air Museum News 2018
It was good to meet up with a few 'board' members at the museum yesterday during the V-Force event & to see so many V-Force veterans enjoying the great weather & catching up with old colleagues! Plus we enjoyed an excellent Dakota flypast to start the day off really nicely!
Onwards & upwards to our next event, which is Cockpit-Fest & Aeroboot on 23 & 24 June, 2018.

Re: Newark Air Museum News 2018
Today has seen a great boost for the Puma XW208 rebuild project at the museum – tail boom delivered for the project.
A big thank you goes out to the team at East Midlands Aeropark for helping to make this happen – thank you all!
The project is making good steady progress, albeit slightly under the radar for much of the time – continues to receive excellent support from the RAF & the wider helicopter community!
Thank you to them as well, you know who you are!!
