Airfest slipped up on a Facebook post replying to everyone saying "just wait for our announcement"
Them someone slipped up posting a reply saying "when items have confirmed we can announce it" I replied asking why they had made such a big deal when they didn't even have confirmations and the post was deleted
Expect nothing till the day! :lmao:

I was informed by the organisers that the big announcement is a display team not seen in the UK for many years!

Still waiting with baited breath to hear what it is!!

Guess it depends how they are gauging 'many years'. I would punt on Breitling Jet Team, Patrouille Reva or Patrulla Aspa.

I mean it won't be Reva unless they call 3 years "many", but I wouldn't be holding my breath on that one

They've also stated it's a first for Bournemouth, Reva have already participated in the past so that rules them out.

I just can't get too excited about this, all the decent display teams (Patrouille de France, Frecce etc) have had their confirmed schedules out for ages and no Bournemouth on any of them. Can't possibly imagine it'll be a team from outside Europe either!

I say if the hype that they are generating is representative of the act, it'll be the SWAHF (haven't displayed in UK in the air for some time, and it is overseas so I guess that covers the regulations they have?), but knowing them it'll be something dull, however there isn't much that is dull, that matches the criteria of hasn't flown at Bournemouth/hasn't flown in UK for a while...

4 Pilots, so my guess would be Team 50 or Couteau Delta.

Both Baltic Bees and Brietling Jet Team fly 6 L39s

If Bournemouth has either it will be their only display in the UK this year

Portugal have retired their Alpha Jets...

I predict a lot of hype followed by something rather underwhelming to the enthusiast.

Patrouille Tranchart is my guess too. Seems like the most logical choice.
