That rings a bell. There's been a few over the years. Am still waiting for Concorde to arrive...

Was it 2013 when a MIG-29 was listed for Waddington before being cancelled prior to the show, minds gone blank as to who was suposed to be sending it.

Woodford early to mid '90s. 5 or 6 Migs directly from Paris, their current development fleet , if I remember correctly.

A few off the top of my head..

RAF Harrier Gr9 that crashed in Oxfordshire en route to RIAT 06
Hellenic Corsair pair that were heading to Yeovilton in 2007 but only got as far as Italy before going tech
French Mirage 2000 that got lost (!?!) over London en route to a Northolt nightshoot
German Orion that ate one of its engines before departing Nordholz for Cosford in 2015

Any more to share?

Actually the Mirage 2000D we were expecting at Northolt turned back at the French Coast due to the runway state after torrential rain left the braking action below minimum for the aircraft.
Cheers Phil

There was talk in 2005 or 2006 of Tomcats at RIAT, rumour only, but it seemed to have some "legs" to it.....pity I wanted wings.
