RIAT Arrivals... LIVE! 2018

Post by UK Airshow Review »

Dear UKARians,

Once again, it's that time of year.

We know what it's like being stuck at work counting down the hours until the weekend, and we do all we can to help those hours go by that little bit faster. Sam Wise will be providing UKAR's usual coverage on Twitter, and Tom Jones will post live photos in this thread as aircraft arrive. Various other UKAR staffers are working hard behind the scenes to ensure that we give the best coverage we can. Once again, congratulations to Dan Butcher for a brilliant logo design.

We have brought back our Twitter widget, with relevant RIAT arrivals social media accounts hand-picked and filtered just for you. The widget will auto-refresh, so you can keep it open all day and watch the updates roll through in addition to this thread. Click the logo at the top of this post, or follow this link: http://www.airshows.co.uk/twitter/

Sit back, relax, and enjoy the build up to the Royal International Air Tattoo 2018.

Yours,

The UKAR Team

Excellent stuff.
Can I please ask for you to state whether each arrival is an 09 or 27 - just a simple addition of two numbers. I ask this as we know the wind direction will have a big factor to play on getting those touch down shots and the arrivals may have to flit about during the 3 days.

Simple request - if you can great, if you cant then thats ok.

I’m at P&V West, so if stuff is touching down, 09 is in use, if it’s on the ground, likely 27.

I’ll do my best to make it clear.

Btw - I’ve got a couple of dust gremlins, it’s too fiddly to clone them put so please bear with. Need to get it cleaned as the blower does nothing to improve it!

Anyway, for variety:

I thought the runways at BN were 08 & 26 :dunno:

Anyway, whatever...Tommy, when your laptop screen is as grubby as mine, dustspots are not a problem

It seems to vary depending on where you look: some say 08 and 26, some say 07 and 25. Although looking at the runway itself, it says 08 and 26.

Ah OK, thanks  I assumed that kind of thing wouldn't ever vary. Or actually would it when magnetic north moves, as that's how the numbering is worked out anyway? But I don't recall Fairford ever being anything other than 09/27.

But then, I don't recall quite a lot of things anymore :dizzy:

God, I hope another aircraft arrives soon, it might stop me rambling...
