I managed to get some shots of a group of cormorants that have been fishing one of the local parks. I have wanted to get some shots of these for some time, so I was well pleased with myself and thankful for a bit of sunshine.
Taken with my Nikon 7200 and Tamron 18-400 lens. As usual C&C most welcome.

Re: The Cormorant
Nice set and some good flying ones, they don't half sit low in the water when swimming BTW

Re: The Cormorant
Thanks. I have a few shots of them on the water, but not as interesting as those posted, well to me anyway. It's catching them when they come up with a fish that I have a problem with, it's eaten before I can get focus on it .

Pre focus on the water where you think it will rise from, the camera then does not have such a focal distance to travel, or use a deeper depth of field so a greater range is in focus, if you can track any bubbles.
On shots like your last one try a shallower depth of field to blur out the background as well, that can help.
I am lucky here as there is a bridge they feed under so I can get shots looking down at them feeding, though they are not as aesthetically pleasing as Horizontal shots.
