Turn'n'Burn..

Post by Savvas »

Some snapshots from this year's Athens Flying Week airshow held at Tanagra AB this September.

The display of the EdA EF-18AM was the highlight of this year's airshow! For me, it was the most static aerial display I've ever seen...

Enjoy!

Please excuse a little side track. The subject title of Turn & Burn took me back to the 1950s, as it would have of anyone who was aviation minded during that era, as 'turning and burning' was the term used during the operating of the Convair B36 bomber. When the aircraft was flying, it would have six propeller engines turning and four jet engines burning, the noise from these was something that was unforgettable. In the late1950s I was living not far from Burtonwood USAF Base, which was used quite often when the B36s were over here on exercise. The best part was when the aircraft were flying at night when they were lit up like Christmas trees, with the crew using spotlights to keep eyes on the Ten engines. Those were the days.
