Quick question for previous FRIATters, how do you get those FRIAT lanyards to hold your passes in? They look nice and substantial compared to that little chain they send out each year. I remember seeing a few people with them, but wasn't sure how you got them as they weren't on the souvenir stand.

I bought mine from the souvenir stand a year or two back - I did notice they didn't have them this year. Hopefully they'll bring them back, they're a very useful thing.

Ah yes, my first FRIAT was this year and if I remember correctly, I got a plastic 'clip on' pass holder, which was okay and did the job. I think the lanyards themselves are available from the RIAT shop (a RIAT generic lanyard) on their website, or I should imagine from one of their retail huts on site during the airshow week. I'll be using the lanyard system next year even if it isn't a RIAT lanyard! Looked a bit more pro

The merchandise stand in the FRIAT enclosure sells them.

If we are already at 1013 so that guarantees at least 1013 seats gone but with say 50% of those buy two seats we are at 1595 and I believe the email earlier in October said that DBH would be working into mid November on the final orders.

Just curious is all since I asked last year if the stand would have added seats for 2019 and was told that "No 2018 was a one off."

I chased up with DBH as I'm a first time Mach2 buyer for 2019, and I expect to see payment taken from my card on my next statement, so it looks positive for FRIAT newbies

They're already for sale on the website. So no, they haven't sold out. They're just behind on processing payments, which doesn't mean they haven't determined how many tickets were purchased.

1013 forms also doesn't necessarily indicate that 1013 were turned in...I was in a group of 3, we all took forms in the assumption that we might come back for 2019...I'm the only one who filled one out.

Silly question, never having done ( and not intending to do ) FRIAT.....

MACH 1 - £200 (Saturday and Sunday)
MACH 2 - £220 (Friday - Monday)
MACH 3 - £240 (Wednesday - Monday)

Didn't there used to be a bigger price difference between the packages?

Just picking one out at random, 2013: Mach 3, 2 and 1 were £204, £174 and £136 respectively.

So yes, Mach 1 has gone up most, Mach 3 least.

FRIAT Mach 3 really is very good value indeed when compared to other ticketing options, even without taking into account the first class facilities.

That's a crazily small difference between Mach 1 and Mach 3 isn't it?

In fact, if you did it separately and spent £57 on each of the weekend show days, £15 (or whatever it is) on a programme, £40 on a premium grandstand ticket and then add another £20 to cover whatever else you might get in a Mach1 ticket, you still don't get to £200 (even if I've got some of those numbers wrong).

Granted, the FRIAT stand is more central than the other grandstand, but apart from that is there really much else different, apart from loos with pot plants outside?

It seems pretty steep, especially compared to what you get for just £40 more with Mach3. :dunno:

IIRC, folks on here have never considered Mach1 to be worth it, perhaps this price hike just confirms that.

By going dowm the Mach2/3 route you get a grandstand for at least Friday to Monday and a bloomin' great marquee to shelter from the rain in.

You also get something nothing else offers the chance to bump into "once a year" friends, chew the fat for a while and then promise to chat again next year.

Indeed - first time FRIATer for 2018 and well 'balls in' on Mach 3...

Once you've tried FRIAT, you're unlikely to go back... :heyhey:

That doesn't read right... hopefully you know what I mean... Committed FRIATer going forward

If anyone is considering FRIAT for this year and hasn't booked yet, DBH have announced today that less than 10 Mach1 and Mach2 memberships remain. Mach3 is sold out.

It was Friday 7th that we got the email update from Wendy, advising they'd be posted out in a couple of weeks. Which, taken literally, would be tomorrow. So I'm not (quite) watching the letterbox yet.

Next week, we can start tracking the postman!

It gets more exciting on my end, since mine are being posted to the hotel I'm staying at for the few days in Wales before the show.

Hopefully the passes are there when I arrive.

Any idea on the positioning of the aisles this year?
