Dunsfold 2019 - 15th and 16th June

Post by itfcscott »

From the show's Facebook page:

BIG ANNOUNCEMENT!!!!!

For its 15th Show, Wings & Wheels is returning to its original 2005 spot in June! The airshow will now take place on Saturday 15th and Sunday 16th June 2019.

The decision to change the date was made following the announcement that the Red Arrows will be on tour in North America throughout August and September and after consultation with exhibitors, participants, volunteers and visitors.

We’ve thought carefully about changing the date of Wings & Wheels to ensure that we are able to continue to put on the very best show for visitors. We had to consider a number of things, including what exhibitors and air displays would be available in August vs June and have concluded that a return to the show’s roots in June is a positive step for the airshow. We are now moving forward and planning the show and really hope you can all join us.

My local show, will see what is announced as it's become very repetitive which is a shame as it is lovely venue. I think they made the right decision to move it based on what families will want to see.

That Vampire pair, Mig15 and Bronco really made it repetitive don't you think :dizzy: or what is it all those silly cars whizzing round the circuit.

The date move sounds like a great idea. I'll have to try and pay W&W another visit this year I think.

It can get very repetitive at the same venue every year though, it seems the organisers don't seem to think outside of the box.

It's pretty much been the same line up for the last 3 or 4 years.

Fingers crossed they get some new acts this year...

You do realise I was being sarcastic, I hope. I wouldn't criticise Dunsfold for their displays, they really do try hard to get the right balance and the photography potential is top drawer IMHO.

I wasn't going to go this year, seeing as its been quite samey for the past few years, however maybe this year being the last they might be able to get some different display acts.

Another airshow in the south bites the dust damn shame, Dunsfold was a nice laid back show, always enjoyed the mix of cars and aircraft, and plenty of space on the flightline.

I am thinking of taking my elderly dad to this but he can't walk too far and needs to sit down quite a bit.

How far from the display is it from the car park?

I could take a fold up chair for him but don't want to carry it too far - can you pop back to the car easily?

I've been a few times and like a lot of shows it's the luck of the draw and what time you arrive. You may be fairly close but you can be some distance from the showground. I would contact the show organisers and see if you can have a disabled spot.

If he is a veteren there is a specific veterans enclosure for which you can buy a maximum of 2 tickets.

You are allocated VIP parking at the front of the car park near show entrances and you would not need to take a chair as there is garden furniture in the enclosure.

Didn’t know that, thanks for letting me know. That’s unacceptable in that case.

If that is the case it is not clearly stated on the website or the See Tickets page.... A disgrace in my opinion, and good thing it's the last show if this is something hidden from customers. Have they ever heard of e tickets? This is 2019.
