Surprised Apache and Chinook are down for this one and not the July show.

I've looked at all the remaining lists and as things stand, I think this might end up being a year where I don't go to a single OW show...

I'm only going because I'm going with the family and my girlfriend's nephews. The camera will stay in the bag most of the day, but there are a few choice items on the list that make it a bit more enthusiast friendly.

Game changer!

What a year it's been at Old Warden - two Lysanders, the evening airshow Spit trio/SHurricane fighter sweep, seven American C-47s, seven Hurricanes, the Northern Aeroplane Workshop formation, the "emotional support Aeroncas" and now the DH-9. I can't remember a stronger half-year at Old Warden; the place really does go from strength to strength.

Can anybody decipher the web site enough to confirm what is actually flying. Visiting and Old Warden based doesn't really explain whether a trip is worthwhile on the strength of the flying display.

Everything on those two lists, weather permitting.

Ah that sounds good. Does that exclude the three specifically labelled static

'Weather-permitting & Family Air-show' both flag up warnings for me. Looking at the list of non-collection displays, that is definitely a sun-hat, Ice-cream & Family content available at umpteen 'free seaside shows'. I've previously seen & photographed the Collection aircraft on numerous occasions in very nice weather & in times when the 'dog-leg' was almost mandatory? Then, they go & throw-in the DH-9, possibly the most unpredictable, not likely to happen display event this year. Does it change my decision not to waste resources attending this Shuttleworth offering? NO way!
Of course, if that stuff listed as 'STATIC' was actually flying, then maybe...

Really enjoyed today. Never thought I would see a 1930s glider do a top side at OW

That German glider one of the best displays I've seen! Felt a little slow in the middle but nice finish.

I certainly agree about the German glider and the Lunak wasn't too shabby either.

Apart from that I felt the show was rather disappointing and I am sad to say that as I am a great Old Warden fan. Much of that was out of their control, with the uninspiring sky, muggy conditions and awkward gusty wind etc.

My previous OW visit was for the superb Military Airshow a couple of months ago which probably contributed to a very flat feeling (apart from the aerobatic gliders) this time round.
