As one season ends another begins

Post by itfcscott »

As it was the last day of Ipswich's season yesterday I couldn't make it to Abingdon this year as I normally would, instead headed straight over to Duxford after the football to catch some of the arrivals back from Shuttleworth and Abingdon. Was a good couple of hours there - seen a lot less at some airshows - with a pair of Chipmunks doing three practice displays and getting to see a Spitfire taxiing, Catalina, Spitfire, Hurricane, Mustang and Yale all arriving at Duxford, with a Harvard departing too...with a great deal of Classic Wings activity too. So not a bad way to start off the airshow year.

First lot of photos edited on my new laptop so I apologise for any strange things going on, not used to it yet at all, so appreciate any comments if anything is looking strange.

Like these a lot Scott

Out of interest, is the Portuguese Chippie actually from Portugal or a UK registered one? I'm asking because I saw a couple when I was in Portugal over Easter and wasn't sure at the time if they were civvie registered or 2 of their 'current' military ones.

Thanks

It's G-CGAO, a proper OGMA Chipmunk.

I find it quite strange that someone would willingly go to watch Ipswich, especially this season.

Or isn't that what you meant?
