Re: Flickr - 1000+ photos = subscription: 10 months on.

Flickr on the other hand is a repository. i wouldn't use it if it wasn't for the fact i already have so much stuff embedded away from it One of the main reasons the new owners gave to justify the free usage cap and pushing the subscription model was that they wanted to build more of a community aro...

Re: Southport 2019

George Bacon mentioned something about the Swedish jets being required to be 4000ft away to use their afterburner? Seems a weird requirement when the Typhoon is spanking past with the fires fully lit. Not sure I heard what he said correctly, but afterburners and 4000ft was mentioned at least twice ...

Re: Southport 2019

Not long back from the Sunday offering. I agree with the observations of others that it seemed quieter than some years i've been. Arrived an hour before flying and I didn't even have to queue for the ticket booth. Even securing a seat on the first post-event train into Liverpool was easy enough. Wea...

Not been since the last Vulcan appearance (2015?) but hoping to go Sunday if the forecast holds. Haven't seen a Viggen in a long while so worth the trip just for that I reckon.

Re: Shoreham Airshow crash trial

The AAIB have put the majority of the blame at his feet in their official report, what the Courts have said (and I can't fathom without reading the reasoning) is that it is was however, not manslaughter or reckless endangerment of an aircraft. Yes, I read it too that its possible that the AAIB find...

Funny how almost all the footage on the news shows planes of the long since defunct 'proper' BMI and not FlyBMI.

http://abcnews.go.com/amp/International/jet-engine-blast-kills-zealand-woman-caribbean-beach/story?id=48620675 There was a video circulating at least a couple of years ago where a woman appeared to crack her head on some concrete blocks at the roadside when getting blown away in that same place. Re: Bwlch, Mach Loop, 14/06/2017 - 'Alpha Alpha'

Nice set. My first time on the Bwlch a few years back also coincided with a group of French Alpha Jets being over and yes, they do certainly like to get right down on the deck!

Re: Blue sky Manchester 8/4/17

Nice work Mark, really do have to make the trip across the Pennines at some point soon! Is the Delta 777 an aircraft upgrade, or just a particular one-off? A short term change. I think we've got them Friday, Saturday and Sunday for the next two weeks so I would suggest a trip soon if you plan to ca...

Re: Blue sky Manchester 8/4/17

Nice set and lovely to see the A350. Are these now used regularly to Manchester ? Not been up since last year and would love to see one. Mark Yes, they replaced the 777's we used to get from Singapore in about mid-January. Saturday mornings are your best bet as there are two on the ground 'crossing...

Blue sky Manchester 8/4/17

Made the most of the decent weather to steal a few hours for my first visit to Manchester since the last little'un showed up October. First chance for me to catch the A350 at close quarters, although sadly they'd gone onto single runway ops by the time it went out so not as close as i'd hoped. https...

Re: More F-35 woes...

15.1 ratio or 20.1, some conflicting figures. Agree the A10 in the CAS roll is hard to beat, look how many hits they have encountered from small arms fire. F35 is an expensive bit of kit to be downed by a 10pence bit of lead from a lucky shot from mr AK47. Not sure hoe they patch up holes in tye F3...

So , about £1 billion or so worth of gizmos , then ........ still say DoD ( or whoever the procurement comes under ) is getting stiffed. Unlike recent encumbants , POTUS-to-be is a businessman....as such , he should be more astute when it comes to spotting when he's being ripped off. Well he is som...

Re: Boom? I cant think of a better name....

Even allowing for improvements in technology, is a plane with half the capacity of Concorde really going to make money at a supposedly lower price point? I wouldn't know, but it would appear that those with access to the real technical information, and proper market research would appear to think s...

Re: New Runway!!

If I remember the area where the runway will cross the road is flat so the new runway will have to have more than a gentle slope as the minister says to clear the road. What happened to the tunnel for the M25. John I presume the rationale is that, taken in isolation, building over the M25 is cheaper...

Re: New Runway!!

Not in agreement with this, Heathrow have 2 runways already which is enough in my opinion. Those that decide, have stated it's not big enough, and it is not, as Schipol, which takes a lot of the transfers that Heathrow sees as potentially theirs, has six runways. I don't want the third runway. How ...
