Re: Flying Legends 2023 - 15-16 July - Leeds East/Church Fenton
ive either missed something or its strange as pre covid 2019 and before there would be many pictures of Duxford arrivals, practice displays and even almost hour by hour commentary on what's happening the last few days before legends but now almost nothing strange has legends gone or am i missing the...

Re: Duxford Battle of Britain Airshow 2022 - 10th & 11th September
Abingdon,NI Airshow both cancelled this weekend plus RAF Hendon and Cosford closed.Just stating a fact as a mark of respect.Everyone has their own individual choice. Isn't this a show to commemorate those that lost their lives during the BoB, therefore in that respect I feel it should go ahead. Ask...

Re: Flying Legends to cease at Duxford
Bit out of the way but how about Sywell ? I think its was a WW2 training airfield so could continue on the historic theme although not as famous as Duxford

VE/VJ Day
Bit of a long shot this one, but does anyone know if there is going to be a parade and flypast as in 2005 ? in/over London. I think Duxford was the staging airfield around Legends time for this as it was midway between VE/VJ Days ??
Thanks in anticipation

Re: Duxford Storm Damage
The building is not unsafe, just the cladding on the roof as 40+mph winds are still forecast for Tuesday. Brian m Just posted the link from Cambridge news this morning, the quote is just below the second pictures, so not my comment Brian why would they put a 1 mile exclusion zone in I'm not suggest...

Re: Daks Over Normandy - June 2019
Talking to one of the crew at OW, the take off is suppose to be single file streaming and straight out to France, no full formation over Duxford. Duxford have this in their flying programme - 2.10pm-2.15pm Mass formation over IWM Duxford heading off to Normandy , but the timing for this contradicts...

Re: Daks Over Normandy - June 2019
Can't wait for this. I wonder if we'll see anything from Lakenheath/Mildenhall making an appearance due to it being a big occasion and to pay their respects? It's possible that the Hercs and Ospreys that are heading to France on the Wednesday 'may' pass over Duxford in the morning, but there is no ...

Re: Duxford Battle of Britain Airshow 2018
As much as i like Duxford as a venue I thought a majority of the show was a complete and utter disaster. The shuttles buses. Its probably been done to death, but taking 1hr and 40mins from Cambridge after getting on the bus at around 8.40 should have been avoided. Walked to Whittlesford Parkway aft...

Re: Duxford Battle of Britain Airshow 2018
Either there’s going to be some big formation displays or the overall flying programme will be longer than normal surely, what with all of that confirmed so far. Looks amazing. i would reckon some will do small group displays and then there will be a massive BoB flyby 3 Mk1 Spitfires, Blenheim, 5 H...

Can't wait for this, going to be a big highlight as I love Daks. List looking good, although there is a long way to go! Re: Duxford September Show 2015
while i enjoyed the show immensely on Sunday i cant help compare it to 2010 which my personal feelings was better. considering the foreign pilots involved 75 years ago there was no French connection as in 2010 (French national display team) no Belgium connection as in 2010 (F16) and only a token fly...
