Re: Duxford September Airshow 2016- 10th and 11th September
Which review? If you're referring to his article on the marketing of Duxford then that is the only flaw he picked out. Certainly nothing to do with participants, themes, under use of aircraft or lack of imagination.
I would say it's been a pleasure...

Re: Duxford September Airshow 2016- 10th and 11th September
If you saw the Constellation at Florennes you'll know full well it does more than two passes. I counted 6. Where else doesn't charge extra for the flight line walk. Umm, where else does?! Only one I know of is La Ferté Alais. Great. You saw the P-47 but never do a solo? Should have gone to Ferté! T...

Use the free Park and Ride system. Don't buy a programme, you have a choice you know. If you don't buy a programme you can afford the flight line walk. Alternatively don't do it, again you're not being forced to. It may only be 3 1/2 hour programs but you're getting 51+ vintage/modern aircraft in t...

Re: American Air Show 28-29 May
There's some utterly ridiculous and dumbfounding comments on this thread that are completely baffling me, but the most baffling is that there was not much American content for an American Air Show?! This simply is not true! 1. Se5a's and Dr1 representing the American pilots who flew in WW1, one of t...

Do explain to me then, just what Duxford would have gained had you gone in the naughty rather than Headcorn, and therefore not paid anything to Duxford?

And I hope you don't make it to the show at all so we're less one person who doesn't quite get the point of the whole event.

I'll be thinking of you "proper enthusiasts" agonising over the red arrows and whether it's a show worth attending, whilst I'm in France enjoying La Fertè Alais and having no complaints about anything at all (y). Oh, and for what it's worth, the DX May show list is absolutely cracking disp...

Re: Top 10 UK 'Airshow Moments' of 2014
So you're telling me that the line "most vaunted imported act of the summer" in no way shape or form could possibly mean the lancs, when the piece itself says that the top spot was challenged by both the Comet and the Lancs.

Re: Which was your Worst Airshow/Event of 2014?
Seriously...the Duxford September show is going down as the worst of the year...how detached have people become from this hobby. For me that was up there as one of my favourite shows of the year! When 2 lancs, a triumphant 727 solo, the Vulcan, a fantastic American Naval Fighters segment, a beautifu...

Re: 2015 Airshow Dates Announced
Planes of Fame is no Flying Legends. Both family and friends who have been to Chino ALL say that Legends is better, hands down. You just don't get the quality of flying in large numbers that you do here. At Chino you will very rarely see warbird aerobatics other than The Horsemen and possibly one or...

Re: September Airshow 2014
I also wonder why some people bother to go to air shows at all. It seems that they are never satisfied. Anyone who described this show as "the worst I have ever been to" clearly didn't go to Farnborough or this year's Biggin Hill fiasco (or the "Spirit of Aviation" show at Abing...

Re: September Airshow 2014
I'm sorry, but the DX September show was brilliant. Okay so the light is notoriously difficult to shoot with at the venue, but does it really matter? I've seen many brilliant and dynamic shots from Duxford that I quite honestly prefer them to the boring samey 'well lit topside', get some perspective...

Re: top side passes- why so difficult?
Aside from the aforementioned issues, the other reasons are simply that a display routine is a display of just what the aircraft is capable of. Remember, you've got maybe 10 minutes maximum, if that in some cases, which means you've got to put together a display which does everything, if you can. Tw...

"· 1340h – The Lancasters will take off one after the other followed by the Vulcan. The aircraft will then immediately leave the visual circuit as they transit to their next destination. " whats the point of the formation if it ain't for Jo Public? Seems to me that again like with the ins...

Re: Flying Legends 2014!
Not so much a leap, more join the dots to be honest. When you tell you've been their twice and, certainly in DanO's case, fail to appreciate the brilliant sights put in front of you, how is what I've said that difficult to believe? No, I certainly appreciate Legends is special. But my photographic ...

Well in which case you clearly aren't able to appreciate just what it is you're watching, and just how unique the sights being afforded to you are. Well I'd imagine that due to watching the show from a mound of dirt with a portaloo, you wouldn't have really ever got the full legends experience. I can say hands on heart that I've never got that impression from anyone I've talked to at TFC. They're a hard working, dedicated bunch of people who tr...

Clearly DanO you miss the fact that simply seeing the two in the air together no matter how far apart is something incredibly special, no matter how close they are. Is it only possible for you to be negative, or do you simply feel you have to be the one to 'shake it up a bit' by being negative. See ...

I saw the Canberra at the Goodwood Revival and can confirm that it looks damn good in grey skies! I even found it fairly easy to photgraph in the grim conditions that we were 'blessed' with
