Re: Paris Airshow 2015 - Image Heavy

Well - I went scouting other locations, as the normal side wasn't very conducive to good photography, as the action was just too far away (no matter what glass you have). I had read about a patch of grass on the threshold a few weeks back, and walked out around the airport in search of it on my seco...

Paris Airshow 2015 - Image Heavy

I was in Paris for the bi-annual Paris Airshow this year. Was a great airshow, and the weather played along for the most part. https://c1.staticflickr.com/1/359/19230789632_caf30d38a6_o.jpg Paris Airshow 2015 by gerardgriessel , on Flickr https://c1.staticflickr.com/1/328/19050551349_74c1c98d2f_o.jp...

Spotting at Meiringen AFB, Switzerland

I hope this topic is posted under the correct section

I will be visiting Switzerland in June this year, and I wanted to find out if anyone can offer some advice as to the spotting options and flying activity at the base during June.

Anyone able to offer some wisdom here?

As far as I know the Rasberry Ripple Buccaneer has not moved. No idea what the situation is with that aircraft.

Here is the vid of the Lightning getting back in the air:

Re: Buzzed by a Lightning! !

The Lightning has flown 4 or 5 times since November / December 2013. Only Lightning T.5 ZU-BBD (black) is flying for now. The South African CAA has granted it permission to fly, it flew yesterday again. The Buccaneer is also flying again. So even though Thunder City is not operational, a certain par...

Re: Inside Thunder City - Part 4 Air-to-air pictures

These air-to-air shots were taken by my Uncle, Frank du Plessis.

He is a fantastic photographer with a precious collection of photographs taken over the years.

These photos were taken out of the back of a USAF C-130 over Cape Point.
