Re: Mildenhall Air Fete 1997

There are really only two Aircraft I ever regret never having seen flying, The SR-71 Blackbird and the English Electric Lightning. Also do I remember rightly correct me if I'm wrong but did the Thunderbirds not try unsuccessfully to perform a flypast after they departed for Home on the Sunday? Only ...

Re: USMC Return to Edinburgh

Brings back memories of the Skyhawk/ Hornet & Prowler Deplyments in the late 1980s. Would love to see some USMC F-35s pay a visit too.

Would there be enough room in the British Airliners Collection Area at Duxford? Also how would they even get it there? Can they land it?

No disrespect to BOAC or Negus but I love the BA Landor livery. Would love to see the 3 being preserved somehow, somewhere.

I agree with you Euan Buchan. If they did it should route ERI - Western General - St Johns’ Livingston.

Re: Mildenhall Air Fete 1997

I have to say that I never saw the SR-71 Blackbird at Mildenhall but seeing the F-117 Nighthawk Stealth Fighter and B-2 Spirit Stealth Bomber more than made up for not seeing the Blackbird. Although I have seen the SR-71 at Duxford.

Re: Leuchars QRA

One of my biggest regrets about Leuchars closing when it did is that we didn’t get the Airshow in 2018 to celebrate RAF100 now that would have been a good show. No disrespect to The Edinburgh Tattoo and Ayr but the RAF100 Celebration/ Airshow in Scotland Should have been Leuchars Airshow.

Re: Mildenhall Air Fete 1997

Went to 1994, 1997, 1998 & 2000, Loved Mildenhall Air Fete and 1997 was my favourite it would have been between 1997 & 2000 but 1997 edges it as the Weather was better. We should have been at 1999 but Kosovo happened although we went for a look anyway to see what was going on. Should have been at la...

Question regarding the Russian MiG Pilots, did the infamous punch up actually happen? Also I seem to remember a piece of footage in TV showing one of the pilots lighting up a cigarette, is that not dangerous considering whats just happened.
