Four trails over Edinburgh just now. Anyone track what they were? About 6.15pm tonight I first saw the contrails. Think heading south-east.

Re: Eye in the sky......

Norman, I don't know if you do Facebook but ion you do, go along to www.facebook.com/WaltonRNLI We had a shout Friday to a homebuilt 70 ft catamaran that had lost its anchor in the winds. All the pictures you'll see are of the same river (looking very different) the number of workboats we needed to...

Re: COVID-19: Your Thoughts and it's effects on you.

One thing's for sure there are very few false positive deaths. So the death rate across the world has been a consistent 1 / 33 of cases although we know cases cold be far higher than 33 million. Extrapolating that to 7 billion inhabitants in the world is over 200 million deaths. Given the uncertain...

They look pretty decent to me, especially the last two. Cheers Norman, have to admit XV574 was my favourite scheme post camo RAF Phantom, only saw her at IAT 1989 and as she arrived we had a B-52 parked in front of us hence the 3/4 front landing shot. Loved that scheme. For some reason lost to the ...

Cheers! Went to see geese and 'bagged' some herons.

There were a couple of egrets but they were way up the river end.

As we eagerly await the next comp, and with the raspberry ripple closed, I hope no one minds if I post a couple of images I had scanned but not included (due to the rule of 3) in case they were of interest. East Lothian Sunset

Around this time of year it's traditional to head out to the relatively local nature reserve at Aberlady to see the migrating geese. As a bonus last week we got treated to a superb sunset. https://live.staticflickr.com/65535/50378292946_b668326861_h.jpg https://live.staticflickr.com/65535/5037813600...

Re: Your holiday plans

Managed to get away for a week in July there when cases were at a very low and sustained level. Now a weekend away has been cancelled due to the new restrictions.

I do wonder if a three-week severe lockdown right now would be a better option than this creeping onwards way of 'managing' cases.

Perhaps the biggest seen in the 'raspberry ripple' scheme, BAC-111, at Greenham Common 1983. its up there Norman, the Comet 4 from Farnborough is the holder of the record though. Loved the Jaguar ACT, shame it wasn't 10 years later, I may have got something half decent myself of it then. Great to s...

Great memories, I went one of there shows back in the 90s long coach trip but well worth it - great light for photography also. There was always something of interest, plus the RAF had a range of types to display then, and being later in the year gave that great light at times. When you could see i...

I was at that show. Memory fades after 28 years but I seem to recall a Russian airforce IL72 in the static as well? You're maybe thinking of the previous year? An Il-76 was in supporting the Russian Knights. They departed on the Saturday afternoon in a shockingly bad rain storm, so much so that my ...

Binged the four-part documentary on the Challenger accident on Netflix. Very good, focuses on the people involved rather than just o-rings. Still quite shocking some of it.
