Having checked the press release it does actually say Hornet and not Super Hornet, so either the quote was wrong or it's been corrected. They also clearly say they are in discussions with certain air arms, which as far as I'm concerned is no different to what RIAT do in the build up to the show.

One thing you have to remember with the Sunderland Airshow, is that the bay curves round, and there are usually spectators right up to the end point of the curve. Therefore the rules say that the faster Aircraft, have to display beyond the nearest spectator i am not exactly sure how far, display it...

I believe the notice only applies for Saturday and Sunday.

Forget the reasons for photography and distances, the middle of Duxford is going to be absolutely rammed and if it's warm that's going to be unbelievably uncomfortable.

Certainly will be interesting if the flying display is stopped due to people being south side, people who paid to get in will have every right to have a go at those south side.

Both of which are opinions and not facts and therefore can be questioned, which is what the new regs appear to be doing.

And is what this is all about isn't it. Who cares about protectiing the public and providing the safest experience possible when it might affect how good your photos are. In light of recent events just think how that sounds. Those that want to take charge of their own risk and stand where they like...
