Re: RAFAT: In decline?

The T2 would be a good replacement, but like everything else it would cost to much money, maybe the alpha jet or some other second hand jet. Ever thought that the FAF are looking for a replacement for their team's Alpha Jets. (Which are no longer produced). The trouble with second hand jets you'll ...

Re: Dartmouth Air Display cancelled

A brief look at the old historic aviation reading matter, shows just what your average Joe, loose while on his boating trip can cause....It only takes one boat in the wrong place! Maybe the RAF didn't want a repeat of the events that caused XX262 to go for a swim back in 1980.. Just a thought..... ...

Harry's Game was used at the shows, including the IAT, for the Vulcan Display Team post Op "Black Buck".

The Theme tune from Thunderbirds was used for a certain USAF display team.

It would have been the late 1990's (97 or 98).

I was on a visit to No.74 (R) Squadron at RAF Valley and watch Bill pull this off during a ISP display at the base.

First US Navy F-35C's to Leemoore.

I have had a press release e-mailed to me from the PAO at NAS Lemoore on Friday.

The first four F-35C's were delivered to the Naval Air Sation to be the first part of the newly reformed VFA-125 "Rough Raiders" which will be the USN's West Coast RAG for the West-Pac fleet.

Re: RAF Tutor Display Pilot 2017 Announced

It's a Tutor. No-one is obligated to like it (or anything else) for it to be a very powerful recruiting tool. Short of the Reds & Typhoon, I can think of no other more beneficial display than one which you can point at and tell a youngster "you can fly that", as you can with the Tutor...

Re: MoD says 2017 'Year of the Navy'

Great. And when are the F-35s going to be operational? Until then the carrier is about as much use as wind down windows on a submarine. I seem to recall reading something just before Christmas indicating that USMC F-35Bs will be operating from her in the interim. Not ideal, but at least they can ge...

News from "down-under"

I had a reply to a question about the RAAF getting the PC-21 has their new training aircraft when I asked if the RAAFAT, "The Roulettes" would be getting the new aircraft. The Roulettes will be getting the PC-21 to replace their old PC-9's. The date for the change over and the colour schem...

I don't think the ETPS has any Yak-52's, mainly jets like the Hawk and the BA/AVRO 146.

The M-B ejection seat strap are attached to the seat and the chutes contained in the head box.

The US seats have a seperate harness for the chutes which the pilot straps on before her/she boards the jet.

Without any engineering knowledge, I can only point to the incredible stability of the F35B in the hover I'm guessing that has less to do with the thrust system and more to do with the computer control of the plane. The commentator on Sat was saying the F35 transitions from normal flight to the hov...

Re: Frecce Tricolori change of aircraft.

Can the M-345 perform the Lomcevak manoeuvre?! The answer should be yes has the RAF's solo Hawk T1 did it for one season. The taill "slide" when veiwed from the side shows that the aircraft is still moving forward. Basically is a optical illousion ( ) to those standing on the crowd line.
