If there's nobody there that are willing to look after or have insurance to cover a multi million pound inte...

Re: Bournemouth Air Festival 2015

When the Vulcan visited Hurn last it was to have stuff done at FRA , also it appeared on static at their families day which was over the same weekend. I believe why they don't use Hurn is down to cost. They have to stream the chute every landing because the runway is just short of the minimum specif...

Re: Dawlish Air Show 2015

Planning on doing Dawlish this year for a change of scenery away from Bournemouth. Now I hear the Smugglers inn area is the place to be so that is where I want to head. My question is ..... What's the score with parking etc ? And is it a case of arriving super early to bag a spot ? Any pointers grea...

Re: Foxy lady,is she airworthy still??

No servicing or work was allowed to be carried out on the vixen until the new vixen team and her facilities at Yeovilton had been audited by the CAA . This obviously takes time to set up hence why all her servicing was late this year .last year she flew in early April , it was only the unfortunate e...

Couple of new builds from me ....

Not been on here much lately . only managed to get a couple of builds done in recent months , a 25th anniversary F4 which was a complete nightmare as the decals were 27 years old and shot to bits , and also a " what if " TSR-2 . Bothe 1/48 scale. Currently got a 1/48 Raspberry ripple Tonka...

VQ-BSK at Bournemouth 29th Jan 2015

Few shots of VQ-BSK's arrival back at Bournemouth from Zurich this lunchtime. First time I've seen her coming into land . I was amazed just how quiet she is . https://farm8.staticflickr.com/7400/15776176463_a2d8ea5171_c.jpg VQ-BSK Bournemouth by Dorsettrooper , on Flickr https://farm8.staticflickr.c...

Airfix 1/72 gnat

Not made anything in an absolute age , probably since April last year. Started to get back into it now though. I did this kit for a group build on Facebook , budget was set at £6.50 ! and a build time of 7 days with no extra add ons allowed unless it's scratch built. Now I need to decide what to do ...

It is sad indeed , especially as when the Gnat goes to Coventry in the next couple of weeks it will be the end of the classic jets at Bournemouth and the end of an era .

Sea Vixen , from Bournemouth to Yeovilton

As you probably know by now the last airworthy Sea Vixen made it's way to RNAS Yeovilton last Friday and was handed over to the Fly Navy heritage trust on Tuesday . It was a rather sombre affair at the DS Hangars on the Friday as we bid goodbye to the aircraft departing Bournemouth for the final tim...

She will now be put into her hangar at Yeovilton where the engineers will commence a full maintenance programme over the winter months. Funding is in place ...
