Re: Blackburn Beverley anyone?

Well done and congratulations to Solway. Its not a type that floats my boat but I am, however, pleased to see a historic type preserved and impressed by the well run and ultimately successful funding campaign.

Bravo to all.

Re: UK Heritage Aviation Trust

Are there not legal implications if you don't raise the money within a certain timeframe on these sites - ie you have to give back what you have raised. I'm pretty sure that's the case with crowdfunding anyway. Although I guess if the only money that's been put in is your own it doesn't count... Th...

Re: Top 10 Airshow Moments of 2023

For me, it was the arrival of the SU-22 and the F-4. I've never seen a live Fitter and didn't think I'd see a live Phantom ever again, so that made my whole year.

I would also think that any none-male readers might object to the reference to bad moods and 'times of the month' too. It’s also poor that someone involved in the project has read the posts on here and the criticisms the organisation gets and done absolutely nothing to improve them There doesn't see...

Re: Llanbedr (Mid 80's) Aircraft serials wanted

I remember coming off the M6 motorway at Carlisle (same decade i think) turning left, then at the lights turning right and about 2 miles on, on this 'side road' there was a Phantom by what i think might have been an army base? Does anyone have any details on it? reg? where it is now etc? Probably X...

Not wanting to be rude but is there any chance that contributors can provide some context or short summary of the content of the links they are providing please? I'm a little wary of clicking on links that I don't know what they are.

I'd venture to suggest that if you are referring to or replying to an earlier post, it might be best to quote it so we know what you are going on about.

Aware of the existing examples (except Alton). When I said 'one' I meant 'one of these'. Apologies if that wasn't clear.

Fishbeds for sale

The Budapest Cold War Park has some if its inventory up for sale. Be nice to see one come over to the UK, but can realistically see how unlikely that is.

Re: Air Forces Monthly "Showbiz" Thread

Hello again Tommy. So, I picked up the August issue of AFM. It was nice to read articles about Modern Mil without having to wade through paragraphs of turgid technical jargon and lists of statistics, however I'm still not sure the mag is for me yet. My main interest is classic jets and the Cold War ...

Re: RIAT 2024 wishlist.

Still hoping for a return of the Bulgarian air force. MiG-29s and Su-25s are a possibility I guess! Last I read, the Bulgarians were struggling to maintain them. With the first of their F-16 order not due until 2025, I can't realistically see one of the (very) few serviceable Mig-29s nipping off fo...

I'd dearly love to see a MiG-29 in the air. Would the most realistic (but still remote) chance be from India? Or is Poland still an option?

RIAT Phantom photo request

Hello all, I know this might be a bit cheeky, but it's always worth asking I guess. Is there anyone who was in P&V West or Kempsford for the arrival of the Greek F-4 and managed to get a good shot of the topside pass that they would be willing to share? As the aircraft's arrival came as a surpri...

Re: RIAT 2023 Discuss everything thread

I found RIAT 2023 pretty lacklustre this year. However- the Sk display was...precise, smooth, and simply inspiring. we will never see Harriers, Su22, Phantom, Tornado, and a 262 together again at an airshow, and pulling these together along with the rest of the static was great Another superb displ...

Only attended P&V on Weds/Thur and the show on Friday but here’s my thoughts. The highlight for me was the arrival of the Greek F-4 late on Thursday evening. At almost 12 hours after the gates had opened, most people had left and in fact the stewards had already come along the fence line announc...

Re: RIAT 2023 Discuss everything thread

I discounted the American stands as I'm hoping to secure a mortgage next year so can't really afford a patch from there.
