Re: Flying Legends 2019

Haven't been to a Legends in 6 years and yes, it was tamer than I remember (and definitely less busy) and no 'exotic' stars as was often the case, no Hurricanes, only 2 Mustangs (I shed a few tears at this point) - obviously some shenanigans going on with the 2 US P-51s departing Friday, and if only...

Old Warden crowd size

Good evening All,

Does anyone know what the crowd capacity is at Old Warden? I have a figure of around 6,000 in my head but would be grateful for any confirmation.

Cheers

Re: Question about Nikon group focussing method

I was dubious about back button focusing when I first read about it and, on the surface, it doesn't seem to offer any technical advantage. However, since using it my aerial pics have been consistently sharper, particularly during high fps bursts. As for the exact reason I would leave this to someone...

Re: Question about Nikon group focussing method

I use an oldish D300s (and even more ancient D200!) and I do use the dynamic area AF - settings for the D300s are: AF-C priority: focus Dynamic AF: 9 points Tracking with lock on: long AF activation: AF-ON only (using back button to focus) With exposure compensation at 1/3 rather than 1/2 I usually ...

Some very nice captures. Particularly like your MH434 shots plus getting the F-15 and Spitfires in the same frame looking that big!! :)

Re: Duxford BofB show M11 end - 1st shot

Thanks all A few more - also correction on the number of Spitfires - the pics show 17 rather than 19 - I will have to have words with my 5 year old's teacher as he was doing the counting https://farm1.staticflickr.com/615/21374141568_5a138f7ab0_o.jpg Spitfire salute Duxford BofB Airshow by Andrew Cr...

Duxford BofB show M11 end - 1st shot UPDATED

Just an opener for now from a show that felt to me like it had a strange atmosphere... right up to the finale anyway which was amazing! Shooting from the M11 end felt nothing like it used to be (mainly due to post-Shoreham restrictions which were mentioned a few times during the show) - none of the ...

Goodwood BofB celebration (tomorrow) - confirmation email

I reserved 1 ticket for tomorrow's Goodwood BofB but last minute job means I can't make it. Happy to forward the confirmation email to the 1st person to PM me. It doesn't seem to say anything about having ID with you so wouldn't have thought it would be an issue (and the risk is yours to take!) Chee...

Roaring RIAT!

I think simply one of the best airshows I have ever been to (that's since my first Great Warbirds Air Display in 1983 ) Great organisation, great displays, great static, great flying.... Dare I say XH558 stole the show... A few of my efforts... https://farm1.staticflickr.com/274/19631055308_94466dd0...

My jaw literally dropped, he pulled it off the ground like an F-16 then pretty much half rolled at the end of the display. Best I've ever seen.
