Certainly do :grinning: The F-18 was built about 25 years ago. https://live.staticflickr.com/65535/50369195301_6201c65413_b.jpg 20200918_150208 by Derek N.Ferguson , on Flickr https://live.staticflickr.com/65535/50368491158_4c6e0f6a85_b.jpg 20200918_150129 by Derek N.Ferguson , on Flickr And covered...

Re: F1 ( and other motorsports ) 2020

If anyone is allowed an opinion on BLM then surely it's Lewis Hamilton. You do know that the POLICE logo on his helmet is a company advertising logo and not an advert for the constabulary? Yah don't say.... It's hard to know if people are posting through humour or ignorance at times.... I doubt he ...

Re: F1 ( and other motorsports ) 2020

If anyone is allowed an opinion on BLM then surely it's Lewis Hamilton. Why, because his father was of African descent? His mother is White. He's benefited more than almost everyone from the social mobility afforded by our country. He actively avoids paying tax on his extraordinary earnings and has...

Hamilton on his BLM crusade - has he not seen the irony in having "POLICE" logo on his helmet and he's wearing "arrest the cops" t-shirt?... If anyone is allowed an opinion on BLM then surely it's Lewis Hamilton. You do know that the POLICE logo on his helmet is a company advertising logo and not a...

Kittyhawk 1/48 Blue Angels F9F-8 Cougar

Not the easiest kit I've ever stuck together. It's a little over engineered in places. Finished in Vallejo acrylics and with the kit decals which were very good. https://live.staticflickr.com/65535/50340455083_0fda996fdb_o.jpg z20200913_225152 by Derek N.Ferguson , on Flickr https://live.staticflick...

Hasegawa 1/48 Blue Angels A-4F Skyhawk

My latest in a line of aerobatic team builds. This Hasegawa's Skyhawk and finished straight out of the box. Sprayed in Vallejo Deep Sky and also has my first attempt with Pledge floor polish as a gloss coat. It seems to work very well. https://live.staticflickr.com/65535/50341140411_5f65e5f1a7_o.jpg...

Scale Model World 2020

I've had an email today saying that, not surprisingly, the IPMS ScaleModelWorld 2020 at Telford is cancelled. It is with a great deal of regret that IPMS (UK) has to announce that Scale ModelWorld 2020 has been cancelled. The level of uncertainty regarding the long term impact of Covid 19 means that...

Anyone else heard of Aruba before this morning? Re: Guy Gibson's Dog Headstone replaced

I'm going guess that the vast majority of posters on here are white and male. That means that we can have little idea what it means to be hated purely for the colour of your skin. To liken the "N" word to Jock, Taff etc is missing the point by a massive margin and ignores all that's gone on for hund...

Re: Old Warden evening show 18th July 2020

Thanks for the comments. I have to say that I thought the format worked very well. Some of that was due to the location as Old Warden has a handy slope but a lot was due to excellent organization and staff. Those that go to future shows will, I'm sure, enjoy their day there.

I don't kow if these are any good. Let me know if they are and I can send bigger jpegs. The first one is XV582 at Mildenhall 1990, the others at Leuchars in 1989. The ones of XT897 are at Greenham Common in 1983 and Fairford in 1985. https://live.staticflickr.com/65535/50137886073_8ec7498ef2_b.jpg h...

Re: First Show on July 18

I can only reiterate what's been said above. It was 1988 when I last went to an airshow at Old Warden and I'm not sure why it took so long to go back. One of the reasons I went for this one was the timing. As we had a three hour drive, starting at 5pm meant a leisurely start to the day. In the end t...

Re: Microsoft Flight Simulator Returns

I think I'll stick with X-Plane for now. It is very expensive for what is a very limited set of airports, even in the deluxe version. It would also be good if the all-world realism extended to the $ to £ exchange rate.

Folks of a certain age who grew up in Scotland will remember Johnny Beattie. 93 is a good age though.

Not quite a full set. I'm missing the F-84F that they used between the F-84G and F-100 and the F-105 that they used for only six shows.
