I got mine from Bristol Cameras for £389 in 2022. It's almost double that now.

I was going to recommend the Sony HX-99 as I paid around £400 for mine a couple of years ago but its around £600 now so a bit outside your budget.

Another update. Last night saw us at the Manchester Apollo to see the sublime Spiritualized. The tour was the 30th anniversary of Pure Phase which they played in its entirety. A set of nearly two hours in total. The Apollo was only about half full so they closed the upstairs and moved us downstairs....
