Re: Your holiday plans

We had 2 camping holidays in the uk - one in Wiltshire in July and one in Yorkshire in August. Both were fine, we spent most of the time visiting English Heritage sites (booked in advance) or walking in the countryside. We went to 2 pubs and 2 cafes both of which were virtually empty. Camping is a f...

The Blackburn Beverley, which was one of 49 built in the 1950s in Brough, near Hull, was bought by a local buyer who has access to a private airfield.

Re: COVID-19: Your Thoughts and it's effects on you.

Surely the point is not whether or not we (or anyone) agree with the rules, but in this case that rules across the UK differ so wildly. It's not unreasonable to find it odd at best that Wales, Scotland, NI and England can have very different ideas about what is the best way to keep us safe whilst s...

Whether letting Jemima have five, six or seven friends at a her birthday party affects how quickly we fall off that precipice, I don’t know. I doubt it does.
Why do you doubt it - surely the more people that come into contact with each other the greater the risk of transmission?

Re: COVID-19: Your Thoughts and it's effects on you.

The Scottish and Welsh governments have played a blinder today, by not including children under 12 in the rule of six. This goes straight to the heart of millions of families across the UK who were bemused and upset by Boris’ ruling. Either Boris will now have to perform another embarrassing u-turn...

Tonight's expected announcement re Switzerland is going to be interesting in light of 1500 new cases in the UK, I doubt their daily numbers are anywhere near as high as that. Doesn't bode well for the Swiss coming over to Leeming, although that may not be a bad thing. Tell me more about the Swiss v...

Re: Red Kites

I saw one over home in South London for the first time a month ago.

Last year driving down the A34 near Didcot they were bordering on being a menace as there were so many of them - several swooping down very low across the traffic.

Lovely birds and lovely images.

There have been a few A400M on FR24 in the last few weeks - heard a few - they sound a bit strange - actually saw one yesterday or maybe Friday heading West towards Heathrow from Dartford(ish)

{Edit} Looking at other posts it was probably one circuit bashing at Biggin Hill on Thursday or Friday.

It’s also right to say that if it gets to a point where a tanker’s paint colours makes it more vulnerable than overall grey ( which, visually, seems to stand out against the clouds anyway ), then things have already gone very badly wrong. Against the clouds maybe, but we've been having more A-400m ...
