Re: Duxford Battle of Britain Airshow 2018

The shuttle bus queue is a disgrace- got here at 8.45 and moved about 20 yards.
If you haven’t joined the queue yet, I’d advise you to walk

Re: CAA Announce Panel for Airshow Review

Assume there will be no kind of public consultation on anything that comes out of it in terms of regulations? Some of it is natural enough to see as a follow on from Shoreham, but other bits are concerning- and in some cases look unworkable without severe ramifications.

There's one on base at RAF Brize Norton- visible, not brilliantly, from the footpath to the south east, by the Hercules ramp.

When are they due out of service then? Thought the type was pretty much gone now, but seems it's sticking round a bit longer at least.

Yellow Sea King over the Malvern Hills.

Chugging north west at the moment. Haven't all the RAF SAR birds been retired now?

Seen 3 of varying colours so far this week- more than I have in years!!

Dawlish Air Show Axed.

Dawlish Airshow has been canceled for next year- citing insurance and legislation changes. http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-devon-34579590 I realise this has been mentioned in the Dawlish Airshow thread, but thought it may deserve a little more prominence given its possible ramifications. Person...

Re: The BBC2 RAF Display programmes

Only saw the first 15 mins or so last night, and, while the script for the narration leaves much to be desired (Lancaster "burst into flames" I seem to recall), I'm a "glass half full" type and, like MD, will be tuning in to enjoy the footage and interviews of the rest of the epi...

No- as I view a photo as a record of what was there, warts and all. If needed for a specific purpose it could be justified, but in my view it then ceases to be a photo, but computer artwork.

Cheers. Did give a nice demonstration of how far the wokka sound carries- the number of times I've looked around, knowing there's a chinook about but not been able to see it! Sound very clear along seafront, with it orbiting the airport.

Busy over Bournemouth

Been a Chinook circling high over for a while, the luxury 747 VP-BAT has just circles as if to land, and now a fisheries patrol (?) red and white dornier circling the bay.
