Hi

The aircraft was painted USAAF olive drab topside & the underside neutral grey.

During filming of Memphis Belle, it retained those colours while the 357th FG scheme was painted over white ( aswell as the moose / candyman nose art )

The WBoGB P-38 was operated from Bigginhill in 1989 for a short period of that year, not blackbushe.

Nothing has happend to the 47 as it is still working through the test flying, we flew it twice on Monday, see post No. 982 on this page m. We flew G-CVDX again on Tuesday after some adjustment was needed, had the FG-1D in the air at the same time and was put to good use as a chase plane.

Make that 2 for europe this week. Air-acadamys TF-51 had it test flight on friday by m/motors.

Grumman F-8F Bearcat, followed in 2nd with the P-47 ( when it get air under its wings!!!!!! ).

BAe offered their Mosquito to the BBMF prior to its crash back in 1996 and was turned down because of no ground engineering support for a wood lamenated airframe within the RAF. The lincs lancs association have done wonders at getting some funds for the upcoming Spit Mk XVI to take to the skies next...
