Something that I've always wondered about. Why did the Irish operate 2 seater conversions as trainers, but didn't have any single seater fighters? Surely the logic of a trainer is to enable trainee pilots to progress to fighters, bombers or other roles? The Seafires were single seaters. Niall Thank...

Something that I've always wondered about.

Why did the Irish operate 2 seater conversions as trainers, but didn't have any single seater fighters?

Surely the logic of a trainer is to enable trainee pilots to progress to fighters, bombers or other roles?

Didn't happen that in edinburgh until April of this year when 8 forces merged into Police Scotland. Prior to that the chopper (still the only one in Scotland) was with Strathclyde
