M5, M42, M6, A14, A43 Surely!
Not from where I'm coming, the M5 isn't an option.

Well I was originally quite keen on the idea of Legends at Sywell. But if its on GP weekend then, like GeeRam, I'm snookered coming from the South West. Should have gone for later in July.

Re: September 27 Airshow: Drive-In-Airshow (de Havilland)

Thank goodness we have a new younger generation of thinking enthusiast - exemplified by Huw Hopkins - capable of appreciating what it REALLY takes to place flying vintage aeroplanes in front of the public. I’m afraid that staying home and dusting your die-cast models and slides just doesn’t compare...

Does anyone know the current status of the Lancaster? Is it airworthy? I seem to recall reading somewhere it had an issue a few weeks back?

OK, I'm confused... So if not the rule of 6, its going to be very difficult to follow social distancing rules surely..? 'with thousands expected'..... Don't get me wrong I really hope the event happens,( we need something positive at the moment, lets face it) but I can't see why others cancel their...

NYK and Rapide MM? Am I missing something, what are they, and the NYK must be so interesting it's listed twice?

On the whole a little bit underwhelming if that's the final list, but still potentially worth the trip for the DH84 which I've yet to see.
Rapide MM, would it be Mark Millers example?

Re: Flying Legends to cease at Duxford

It's interesting that IWM seems to want a slot that regularly clashes with the biggest airshow in Europe. Flying Legends could always hold its own against RIAT, but could a generic airshow?

Re: Top 10 Airshow Moments of 2019

Both the DH9 and Ultimate Fighters have also appeared elsewhere since so I'm unsure as to why their debut at Duxford is such a big thing. The DH9 in itself should be worthy of inclusion but not because it debuted at Duxford. As for the Ultimate Fighters, four types that have all been seen before (OK...

Re: Your favourite UK airshow 2019?

Shuttleworth still stands out for me as the king of the airshow circuit. I managed three shows there this year, in June, July and August. In terms of favourite UK airshow I couldn't point to just one, but my top airshow moments of 2019 would be : Mosquito / Lancaster dual taxi at East Kirkby Spanish...

Latest weather forecast is the worst ever! Surprised it's not cancelled, as they can't charge if nothing flies surely? Of course they can using the caveat "serviceability and weather permitting", like any other airshow. Besides, there is more to the event than just the flying. Unless Shut...

Great show, great content as usual. Buses worked well getting in and out of the airfield but then it all fell apart. It took an hour to get away from car park B. A let down after such a brilliant day.

Re: Paris-Villaroche Air Legend 2019

I had a thoroughly enjoyable weekend at Melun. Really pleased I went. Definitely a sort of La Ferté-Alais lite type show (no complaints here!) with some wonderful classic jets present. Rafale and A-400M were exceptional as were so many of the war bird set pieces, and who can forget the C-47/P-51/Pde...

So effectively a naff position that serves purely to highlight how much dross there is on the airfield. Hardly a view to pay for.

Sadly that is a very accurate review. Right on so many points. RIAT needs a major review of itself before the next show. Unfortunately though with the inevitable rise and dominance of the F-35 enthusiasts are going to be increasingly short changed. That's hardly DBH's fault though is it. I didn't s...
