Re: Aero Legends 80th Anniversary Battle of Britain Airshow

Could be one of those days of 2 halves weather wise today, don't write it off too fast, we have all seen them in the past. Wind speeds look a bit lively though.

This seems badly worded, I would guess they don't want people bringing alcohol rather than food, that does sound totally odd

Re: Big jet TV YouTube channel

We had the discussions in June and ended it there looking at the thread, believe it was AndyXH558 who resurrected the sniping which I feel is a bit unfair, so I replied, no big deal. As stated, this forum needs all the arguing/any comments at all it can muster at the moment, perhaps this should be t...

Re: Big jet TV YouTube channel

And here we go again with the insults of Gerry. Anyone bringing aviation to thousands of viewers is ok by me, and if you hate his content don't watch. He is a personality and as a broadcaster is head and shoulders above any other aviation channel streaming from airports and bases. He makes the strea...

Re: Battle of Britain Airshow 2020 - 18th-20th September.

Agree. Credit to Duxford for trying, but the OW model of drive in was always a better bet. Conventional shows just will not happen this year imho, sadly Headcorn included (and I was tempted by that)

What if a young child runs towards you, do you sprint away from them?
The same as I'd do in a supermarket or in the street, avoid them as best I can without one of us falling over and get on with life?
Minor difference being the 15k people in a relatively small area

Re: Battle of Britain Airshow 2020 - 18th-20th September.

Fair play if you can hold it in all day, impressed. You simply can't attend this sort of event and guarantee no human comes within 2m of you.
What if a young child runs towards you, do you sprint away from them?
Anyway, good luck to those who go if it is still on.

Re: Battle of Britain Airshow 2020 - 18th-20th September.

Presume the straw clutchers on here are ticket holders? Who will seriously want to mix with 14999 others at DX in 10 days? Not I. And I love airshows.

Re: Flying Legends to cease at Duxford

I only go to DX for the shows nowadays, the museum alone is no longer a draw. If IWM go down the road of killing airshows there, they need to be careful as they may find themselves with a dusty old museum no-one bothers with in 10 years time. The OFMC, HAC and TFC are the living, breathing heart of ...

Re: Flying Legends to cease at Duxford

As if this year has not been depressing enough already! Bit by bit, this wonderful hobby gets eroded more and more. The IWM staff are probably not enthusiasts, they are PR people. They don't get it, and never will. Thanks to TFC for so many great memories in the very hot Duxford sunshine (most of th...
