Re: #GetTonyAFlypast

Any missing man tribute always gets me.

I know it would've been impossible, but maybe Sally B could've changed her identity to Mi Amigo, just for one year?!

Re: RIAT 2019

No, that's not how the pit area works - its not open while the aircraft are operational. That is, if it was to work along the same lines as previously. At the Eastern end, you are allowed beyond where the barriers usually are. There are then barriers at static display distance around the aircraft l...

Re: RIAT 2019

How intimate do they mean with the 'pit area'? It's the one thing attracting me to attend on the Friday. I don't know, but it is a good question. I didn't venture down there last time they did the pit area thing, but I assume it's a bit like when they've had the fast jets on the south side at the w...

Re: May 6th - Season Premiere & RAF centenary

Thoroughly enjoyable day, my first Old Warden airshow and certainly not the last. Nothing to complain about from myself, left Northampton around 9:15 and by 10:30 we had a decent spot a couple of rows back, just in front of Spitfire MH434. The fiancée, 7 year old son and 7 month old daughter couldn'...

Re: May 6th - Season Premiere & RAF centenary

Thanks guys, much appreciated, think I'll give the flightline a go!

Does the same rule apply with Shuttleworth, arrive as early as possible, or is it a steady flow throughout the morning?

Re: May 6th - Season Premiere & RAF centenary

This will be my first Old Warden airshow with the family, really looking forward to it. I see from the Shuttleworth website that flightline tours run every 15 minutes, forgive the stupid question, is this like the flightline walk at Duxford only with a limited time slot?! Also, is it worth doing? Re...

Re: Pistons & Props, Sywell 2013

It was good to see and hear the older F1 cars! As for the Benetton, I'm not quite sure about that, not seen it up Sywell before, if I remember correctly?!

Thanks for the comments

Flying Participants : 56 (classing each individual aircraft e.g. Red Arrows x9)

Does anyone have a rough idea of display time taken up / left to fill? I would have a guess but fear I would be way off!

Very hard to just select 5! Here's my offerings 'The Magnificent 7' as described by Mike Ling, very respectful display, looking forward to all 9 aircraft in 2013 http://farm9.staticflickr.com/8169/7925215612_d7f8d51c96_b.jpg First time up close to a Harrier, not where it should be though.... http://...

Crowd pleasing RIAT 2012

Hi Thought I'd join the trend of posting some RIAT shots. Sorry for the amount! Not the best quality of other posts but hopefully not too many of the same shots seen before, all from the Saturday. What sort of images will I be able to create?!

Hi For RIAT this year I have managed to hire a Sony 70-400 G lens to go with my A580 and I was just wondering if anyone else has the same lens, or similar set up, and would show what this lens can produce? Either links to your own websites of Flickr accounts is what I'm looking for, as I have not se...

Hi Hopefully not too much of the same shots seen on other posts, trying a slightly 'different' view of things and would love to know what works and what doesn't! All are from the Saturday.
