Re: Shackleton MR3 WR985

Not seen 985 for a number of years, but from these it looks like a lot of hard work and money will be required to get it anything like. Is that the remains of a Meteor T.7 in the second photograph Cole? Nice Spot! It too is in a sorry state, most of the wing and skin of the aircraft was in a skip. ...

NZ trip part 10. Next stop was the Ashburton Aviation Museum. At that time a fairly small museum but filled with some unusual and interesting types, including a rare Porterfield 35W and a selection of crop dusters. The museum has since expanded somewhat, with a new building and more aircraft includi...

... as I believe this B-25 is an actual combat veteran and not a TB-25 as quite a number of the flyers seem to be. It may well be a combat veteran, but it was still converted to TB-25N spec after returning to the USA in July 1945. See here: http://www.warbirdregistry.org/b25registry/b25-4428938.htm...

Re: Three injured in B-25 off-airport landing.

Glad to hear the crew have not too serious injuries, could have been so much worse.
A terrible shame if the aircraft is a write off though, as I believe this B-25 is an actual combat veteran and not a TB-25 as quite a number of the flyers seem to be.

NZ trip part 9. The 6th April 2004 saw us visit the Royal New Zealand Air Force Museum at Wigram. The presentation of the aircraft in the main hall was stunning, with varying light levels to give different atmospheres, it would have been very easy to sit and watch the changes for a couple of hours! ...

A highlight of the New Zealand tour was a visit to RNZAF station Woodbourne, to see the retired A-4K Skyhawks and the technical training facility with its collection of DH Devon aircraft. I’ve been giving this some thought before posting any response, and have come to the same conclusion as DaveBr - I will probably only go to Duxford once every five to ten years at best from now on (if at all). For the last few years the May show has not appealed, yes they have had a participant that...

Hurricane R4118 at Cosford 18/8/20

R4118 visited RAF Cosford today to mark 80 years (and one day!) since she was delivered to 605 (County Of Warwick) squadron, 605 now being based at Cosford. The NHS Spitfire also made a pass beforehand, which I did not catch as the approach was behind trees and it was on me before I realised what wa...
