Saw it in the distance over Brentwood before the flypast, but missed it on its way back into Southend. It is there at the moment.

Re: VE Day 80 flypast London 5.5.25
I heard on TV that there is a flypast this evening over Horse Guards Parade, by a Spitfire and Hurricane.

VE Day 80 Flypast London
Lighting was a challenge today, dark and light grey cloud and some brightness too. Re: RIAT 2024 - discuss most things thread
Thank you for the schedule, does anybody have a rough idea of what is still to arrive tomorrow? I would guess, RAF stuff, F-35, Typhoons, P8, Voyager, Italian Tornados and German Tornados, HHA Hunter, Vampire, Dutch F-16’s, Belgian F-16s, USAF F-15s, F-16’s, F-35, RC-135, KC-10. This is all off the...

Re: RIAT 2024 - discuss most things thread
I’m quite happy at the moment, decided to do Weds and Thursday. Spanish F-5’s were nice, Phantoms were worth the 4am start from Essex alone. Morrocan F-16s were nice to see too. A great start to the show, although I do have a lot of photos of F-16’s and Hercules going in peoples right ears.

Re: RIAT 2024 - discuss most things thread
Did I imagine it, or was it mentioned a few pages/weeks back here that the Spang F-16’s weren’t attending? I see they have now confirmed in the latest update and wondered as they are now attending, whether the Makos ones didn’t need to come over and represent the type at the anniversary. I think th...

Re: RIAT 2024 - discuss most things thread
Im thinking of going on Thursday for the first time. On average , how busy is it for arrivals ? For instance is it a few an hour or more or less often. Thanks. The real answer is nobody knows outside of Fairford at present. Last year it was reasonable even split between Wednesday and Thursday so we...

Re: Kings Birthday Flypast 2024
Nice photos. I was deciding whether to go into London or to a location I know near Lambourne, which is higher up and you get more of a side view. Went to the latter, got a big old rain shower beforehand and grey skies for the flypast. London just down the road was in Sunshine! Turned out nice minute...

Re: Duxford Summer Airshow - 1st & 2nd June 2024
The C-47s. That’s all Brother dropped in late last night. “Pegasus” and “Placid Lassie” went to Duxford this morning, then all 3 departed for France. The two other DC3s went from NW to Duxford, but returned to North Weald a short while ago. The first 3 I read were returning to NW about 2pm, and will...

Re: Duxford Summer Airshow - 1st & 2nd June 2024
Dakotas already gone? Was only coming through the gift shop upon entrance and seen them leaving? Is that it or are they coming back? I think they maybe coming back to North Weald about 2pm. All seems a bit muddled. Saw the three in the distance over Basildon, a lot earlier than originally planned.

Re: Duxford Summer Airshow - 1st & 2nd June 2024
Looking at ADSB, C-47 “That’s All Brother” didn’t make the flypast. It went to Cherbourg around 1730, (via a flight along the white cliffs). It has just returned from Cherbourg a short while ago, arriving at Duxford around 2148.

Re: KC135 with 6 F15s/f35s? Ipswich area
Tracked them on FC and ADSB. They went over to the East of Basildon, Essex. I was the other side of town near Ford Dunton so quite a distant shot. Quite clear against the very high cloud though, and nice to see over this way. https://live.staticflickr.com/65535/53649579591_5751fc5fa0_k.jpg KC-135 &a...

Phantastic Icons at Wattisham (Timeline Events)
A very enjoyable and well organised event by Timeline Events and Wattisham Station Heritage Museum. I have been looking forward to this for ages and it didn’t disappoint. It is well worth keeping an eye out for the next one. I would go as far as to say it is a must if you are a Phantom fan and are i...

Re: RIAT 2024 - discuss most things thread
Another good thing, in my opinion, about using the Western loop to showcase some rare and the best to photograph aircraft is that because of this area being shut on the Friday, it could allow for more of the rare aircraft to make their arrivals on the Friday - meaning more people (including myself)...

Re: RIAT 2024 - discuss most things thread
The Western Loop was out of bounds/beyond the barriers on the Friday show day. I only went that day and missed the Harriers/Phantom/Fitter etc.
Just a word of warning if you are thinking of going on the Friday in case it is the same again.

Re: Llanbedr (Mid 80's) Aircraft serials wanted
I remember coming off the M6 motorway at Carlisle (same decade i think) turning left, then at the lights turning right and about 2 miles on, on this 'side road' there was a Phantom by what i think might have been an army base? Does anyone have any details on it? reg? where it is now etc? Probably X...

I will have a look for you, see what I can find. I was more familiar with Llanbedr as I dropped by there briefly in 1994.

Re: Martin Baker’s Meteors - Threshold Aero event
You are right, there isn’t a seat in WL419. There is in WA638. I think they are using that one mainly at the moment as it has lower airframe hours than WL419.
