Re: Lincoln Options

My youngest is currently in her second year at Lincoln Uni - so understand the ‘time killing ‘issue! If you want to virtually guarantee movements then I’d say none of the above! On the other hand Cranwell generally has a steady flow of Phenoms, Prefects and Tutors. But thoroughly recommend Newark Ai...

Luke 28 - it’s customary (at the very least to credit your sources) - if I wanted to post on this Forum - I would have done so.

Re: Tornado Farewell Tour

Very frustrating that his was done midweek when most of us are at work. Maybe they did it to keep the crowd level down. Not sure about other parts of the country - but in Shropshire and surrounds it's school half-term week - so it could be argued that they were permitting more folks to see the even...

Re: D-Day Event, 1994

On the 4th June I noted the following at Fairford:
84-0057, 85-0072, 86-0103 & 86-0113 all “DY” B-1Bs, 67-19417 EC-137D and 65-0260 C-141B.

The Canadians were at Lyneham on that date - 130313, 130332, 130333 & 130340 along with two French machines - 5144 & 5153.

Re: RAF E-3D ?

They already do have a boom capability - the longest mission they’ve done in the Middle East was 17 with (I think) 2 AAR sessions. The RAF E-3D managed a 17hr 55min sortie over Afghanistan in late 2001/early 2002 - it could probably have managed a bit longer - but I think by that point they’d run o...

Or, simply cough or pretend to make 'crackling' noises to 'cover' the time at the beginning and end of the recording - and then leave the tape running all night when the weather permitted....!

It worries me that, an organisation that was contacted and informed that populating Websites and Facebook pages with other people's images without their permission was not clever from a 'Copyright perspective' - and definitely not a good idea - continues to do so. They subsequently were given permis...

Re: P-8 squadrons announced

With a large crew on each aircraft, there would be a lot of personnel for one Sqn, so they have two. Same logic as was used for 8 and 23 Sqns operating the E3. Yes, but the P8As are replacing Nimrods, which had much bigger crews (13 to the Poseidon's 8) Of course Sqns have more than just aircrew. T...
