Re: RIAT 2021 Participation and Discussion Thread
Roll on 2023, just in case. When we lost 2020 I never imagined for one second we would lose '21 as well.

Re: 2021 Airshows
The risk to the average person has always been low, the issue is them passing onto the vulnerable. Now that they are about to start that vaccinations with those most at risk I think by April/May we will be rocking and rolling again. I think the only worry is they will probably have to make a decisio...

No point in a static line up if we are restricted to our 'boxes' so that would free up some space.

Re: Scanner use in France
Scanners use is illegal here too but the laws are rarely enforced Scanners themselves are perfectly legal in the UK it is also perfectly legal to use a scanner. It is however illegal to use them for anything other than listening to licensed broadcasts, amateur/citizens band transmissions or weather...

Re: Bruntingthorpe Closure?
I note there is a project on the way to move the VC-10's, given the cost to the Buccaneer group i suspect it's a little ambitious.

Re: Bruntingthorpe Closure?
From the facebook page, such a shame. Cancellation of Cold War Jets open day August 2020. Following the acquisition of C.Walton Ltd and a lease of land at Bruntingthorpe by Cox Automotive UK Ltd. The August open day will not take place. This brings to an end many years of Cold War Jets Open days. Th...

Great to see, so much better than the tame runs Cosford has provided recently. Seemed to keep the burners lit for quite a while, seemed a lot more than the Lightnings at Brunty ?

From Totterdown the best display was the Italian Typhoon, literally had people ducking but I guess it's all about perspective.

Re: RIAT 2019
Got home and took a look at the pictures. I'm going with essentially zero chance the arrestor hook is the cause. You can see it's sitting right where it belongs. It honestly just looks like delamination to me. I concur. Excellent airmanship from the pilot. If he'd continued his display, we'd have b...

Re: RIAT 2019
F16 took his tail out with his own arrestor hook, was listening to the pilot on the scanner at the time. I’m not 100% sure that’s possible without the hook falling off. I heard the pilot say his hook had deployed inadvertently, then he climbed to height to make some checks. He asked if there were a...

Re: Royal Navy International Air Day 2019
Watched the free Planes Tv feed.Good show spoilt by the loud commentary and not being able to hear the displays properly because they turned the sound down.Even the Typhoon and F16 sounded quiet. You should have been there ! Constant droning on, even when there's nothing displaying, poor quality sy...

Re: How will you be enjoying the show?
Just Totterdown for us this year, Thurs to Mon. It will be the first time we haven't been into the show but we had such a great time at Totterdown last year we decided to give it a miss. On reflection I don't think we'll see the best of the Harriers, F35 and helos so we'll be back in next year.
