Re: Camping at Tangerine Fields

I think he might have his campsites mixed up, if he was walking from Totters he’d have walked a long way past the pedestrian entrance to get to the campsite (and there are portaloos in the pedestrian entrance queues) I was there in 2018 from Weds-Mon & didnt experience what was described, however t...

Re: Camping at Tangerine Fields

I wandered in there in 2018 to use the loo as a was walking down from Totterdown. I have never seen such a disgusting mess, site was covered in litter and the toilets were literally overflowing with poo. Whole place was absolutely minging.

John announced the trailer will be back this week. No pallets though so you'll need some small ladders for the last foot or so for a good view.

Re: RAF Cosford Air Show 2021 - UPDATE: CANCELLED

Suspect it may have been difficult to get foreign participation at the moment, guess we would have got a 'seaside' type show I'd have gone anyway. My last show was RIAT 2019, can't quite believe that.

Re: RAF Cosford Air Show 2021 - POSTPONED

I wouldn't get your hopes too high for a Cosford show in September to be honest. And if it does go ahead, expect a much smaller affair with no international participation planned. Looks like it's going ahead, spread over two days and I think that there are plenty out there itching to display. Given...

Makes no difference to me as I've always avoided anorak central but I tell you what if they put up the price of the Pimms Enclosure I'll be steaming !

The first 3 are what I spend most my time trying to avoid :)
Good weather and blue skies, false advertising perhaps ?
Great to see the invitation, time to get digging although I doubt I'll have anything up to standard :(

Roll on 2023, just in case. When we lost 2020 I never imagined for one second we would lose '21 as well.

Re: 2021 Airshows

The risk to the average person has always been low, the issue is them passing onto the vulnerable. Now that they are about to start that vaccinations with those most at risk I think by April/May we will be rocking and rolling again. I think the only worry is they will probably have to make a decisio...

No point in a static line up if we are restricted to our 'boxes' so that would free up some space.

Scanners use is illegal here too but the laws are rarely enforced Scanners themselves are perfectly legal in the UK it is also perfectly legal to use a scanner. It is however illegal to use them for anything other than listening to licensed broadcasts, amateur/citizens band transmissions or weather...

I note there is a project on the way to move the VC-10's, given the cost to the Buccaneer group i suspect it's a little ambitious.

Re: Bruntingthorpe Closure?

From the facebook page, such a shame. Cancellation of Cold War Jets open day August 2020. Following the acquisition of C.Walton Ltd and a lease of land at Bruntingthorpe by Cox Automotive UK Ltd. The August open day will not take place. This brings to an end many years of Cold War Jets Open days. Th...

Great to see, so much better than the tame runs Cosford has provided recently. Seemed to keep the burners lit for quite a while, seemed a lot more than the Lightnings at Brunty ?

From Totterdown the best display was the Italian Typhoon, literally had people ducking but I guess it's all about perspective.

Got home and took a look at the pictures. I'm going with essentially zero chance the arrestor hook is the cause. You can see it's sitting right where it belongs. It honestly just looks like delamination to me. I concur. Excellent airmanship from the pilot. If he'd continued his display, we'd have b...

Re: RIAT 2019

F16 took his tail out with his own arrestor hook, was listening to the pilot on the scanner at the time. I’m not 100% sure that’s possible without the hook falling off. I heard the pilot say his hook had deployed inadvertently, then he climbed to height to make some checks. He asked if there were a...
