Re: RIAT 2022 Discussion Thread
It was embarrassing when the Riat photographers up the big ladder strongly “asked” the Spanish F18 team to move their tables, chairs, and items they were selling so they could get an uncluttered picture. The Spanish were less than happy and only moved when the senior officer told them to. While the ...

Re: RIAT 2022 Discussion Thread
Blimey the crew must have catapulted what ever was needed, they were gone before the wheels had time to warm up on the tarmac! What was the purpose of the Hungarian A319? It landed and departed immediately? Doesn't a support aircraft usually hang around for a period of time to drop off whatever is ...

Re: RIAT 2022 Discussion Thread
Another problem - this time for FRIAT e-ticket holders. To get your 'free' daily flying list, a FRIAT benefit, you need a voucher. You can't get a voucher for Wednesday as FRIAT is not open to collect you pass and vouchers. And, for me, who was planning to be in P&V all day, it's not worth a tr...

Re: RIAT 2022 Discussion Thread
Anyone think there is any possibility of arranging a collection bucket in the FRIAT reception in memory of Colonel Oleksandr Oksanchenko for families of those killed in the 831st Guards Tactical Aviation Brigade or indeed the Ukrainian Air Force? Perhaps there is a FRIAT person with good connection...

or was it competition from the likes of Jessops mail order (way before they hit the high street) when you could get film much cheaper than the rip off airshow prices!

Scraping the barrel with this one: New Carrier Shines Light on Scampton Heritage The arrival of Britain's new aircraft carrier, HMS Queen Elizabeth in Portsmouth this morning, heralds the start of a new era for the Royal Navy and Royal Air Force. In the not-too-distant future, The F-35 Lightning II ...

15000?! Is that all?! I had more than that round for my dog's 7th birthday party! Why so low? It's as though shows are scared of any negative response if god forbid the great unwashed have to wait for more than 5 seconds in their car to get in or out or wait for someone to use the loo before them o...

Depends how much you do! If you do a lot the mouse can cause stress on tendons (well mine anyway) the other method with a tablet takes a lot of practice but can be more flexible.

Re: QE to Portsmouth
Unfortunately even though we are an island nation we are not blessed with particularly deep or wide natural harbours, so once the decision was taken that we needed ships, of this size and we were not going to relocate one of our existing dockyards to a brand new man made harbour then it had to be P...
