Re: FIA 2016 Participants

Thanks for the list Paul, was looking on the website earlier, always seems to be hidden each year. Rain was incredible, a real torrent. Thought I'd pop up for 45mins whilst working from home. Parked in local supermarket, saw 3 planes and that was it. At first I thought it was a shower but chucked it...

F18 over Basingstoke

Nice and loud just after 10am heading South West. Assume it has come out of Farnborough and hopefully daily flights like 2 years ago.

Re: Hornet down at LN *note to members*

Awful news, very sad. I haven't been on here in a few days and didn't realise there were any on transit through. Heard the news earlier and thought it was a case of reporters getting the aircraft wrong when they said F18.

Re: 2016 Airshows

Might give the UK shows a miss in favour of one or both of these:

Florennes
Leeuwarden

Otherwise will aim for
Yeovilton
RIAT

Farnborough is down the road so probably pop down for a couple of hours but won't waste my money going in.

Re: Battle of Britain Day Commemoration at Goodwood

That was disappointing, didn't see anything over Basingstoke. What was in 'White Section', heard a distant sound and that was it, way over the M3 side

Not good. Looks like it has come down onto cars parked at the British Car Auction site. Early reports are saying it was a Phenom. A30 is closed apparently

Re: RIAT 2015

Jalfrezi - Sounds a nightmare. In what way has the Red Route changed as that is the route I use. I always aim to get there for 07-07:30, arrived at 08:30 once and was a nightmare, stuck for ages. At least weather is looking a bit better for tomorrow now.

Re: The 'how early are you getting up in the morning thread?

Having gone for years, I have a feeling some of you are going to get caught in bad traffic. I hope not but if you can you really need to get there for 07:00 - 07:30. I left it late one year and arrived at 08:30, nightmare. I come in on the red route and with this years show a sell out traffic will b...

Armed Forces Day Flypast in Guildford at 1pm.

I'm from Basingstoke but was cycling in the Surrey Hills and they came over low and loud, along with the Reds.

Ah. I've seen one pic of it in Frecce colours, didn't realise it was the one in the show, was too high earlier for me to tell. Very nice display too.

In checking the Farnborough movements board it seems both were out and about earlier. The M-346 landed at 09:55 and the latter one that I saw again on its way back before lunch was deffo an M-345, landed at 12:18

Re: Jet over Whitchurch, Hampshire

Another one has just gone over Basingstoke heading south west, caught the tail end of this and the one earlier, was either an M-345 or M-346. F/A 18 is also flying around.

Am working at home and will move nearer to the back door I think

Re: How busy is the Red Route?

Hi, I use the red route every year, have done for years and the red route is normally the better one. The details are listed on the RIAT website under 'Planning your trip'. I come through Farringdon Lechlade, down the A417. I normally hit the car park at 06:45 to 7am, no later than 7:30 so am waitin...
