Nope, supposedly this airframe has the most flighthours out of any Gripen A in the Swedish inventory!

So, what does that mean? About 50 flying hours? ;)

Haha nah it's around 3000 hours and I'd say that's pretty good

Re: Civilian Saab Viggen might fly this summer!

Or is it a civilian reg in name only due to it's obvious connections with the Swedish AF Historic Flight? True owner is the Swedish state through the Air Force museum so it's very much civilian... by name, operator and ownership. m I think there's a good chance of getting it to UK shows, not going ...

Re: Civilian Saab Viggen might fly this summer!

We may have to agree to disagree, capability wise I have no idea, but for coolness I do like the Gripen. Canards are cool! I agree canards are cool and I always loved the European deltas; Draken, Vulcan, Viggen, hey even Mirage Clearly Gripen create some butthurt feelings these days the more it sel...

SwAFHF said on twitter that a youtube movie will hopefully be up this weekend. Viggen flew again (twice) today as well as Draken.

Looking good for April 2 and Saabs birthday... :snack:

Re: Civilian Saab Viggen might fly this summer!

Just a reference.. as you've probably heard this aircraft is booked for Norway's Bodø airshow 2012 (about 10,000 visitors/day) and that's not exactly a short jump from its home. In a way comparable as going up to flying legends through Europe. Shouldn't be too crazy arranging a UK visit.. some day!

Now SwAFHF got to provide documents on how they plan to operate the jet to get the airworthiness certificate. Control flight is scheduled befor...

Re: Saab Gripen; Sales push article

Gripen NG will have better sensors than JSF (at least until a MLU), superiour datalink sharing, far better BVR-missiles that offsets a larger rcs, a much more modern and revolutionary architecture. True fighter agility and snappy climb rates, longer range. As for the signatures, it has very likely a...

Naval version of the Gripen NG that is under development at SAAB linköping. The changes to make it naval is not all that major actually.

UK is not the target for sales.
