Re: Flying Legends 2019

Really disappointing show. Loads of padding and the non appearance of the DH9 was a real let down. The fact that that the displays are so far away doesn’t help either. I felt I was at the wrong venue watching a show in a field down the road. Best thing was the Red Arrows. Been a Legends attender sin...

Re: Flying Legends 2019

I have tickets for my son and I plus we've paid out for a hotel stay and I have to say the line up isn't overwhelming. Fully understand that post Shoreham it's more difficult these days and to get those historic planes up is an achievement in itself. I've attended Legends since the 1990's so maybe I...

Re: RAF Scampton Air Show 2017

My thoughts based on actually going to the show yesterday: Travel from Scunthorpe - sound, as the A15 was shut to non airshow traffic from Caenby Corner. As we had on base parking, we did have straight access all the way down the A15 to the base itself and were soon parked up. Entry to the show itse...

What like the being turfed off by the police after the gates should have opened and then having everything land at the 'wrong' end just to really rub it in?!

Re: Arrivals

The worst arrivals day I've ever been to. Rubbish getting in, a sparse number of arrivals and those that did arrive came in at the wrong end away from the paying public. Were the winds that vicious? Don't think so. As an exercise in peeing people off the last two days has been a triumph.....

Re: Arrivals

It's 9am again tomorrow and having got moved at 8.40 today by the coppers, thus losing my place, I'll be pretty annoyed if they start admitting people tomorrow before the time I've been told to turn up (9am)...it was a complete farce. Add to that shifting the landings to 02 it made for a frustrating...

Re: Arrivals Days

Arrivals day is by far the best day of the weekend. Loads of arrivals and excellent facilities. On entry to the parking area you will also be given a list of aircraft arrival times.

Re: Waddington 2009

I agree with Spock, the show's hardly mouth watering for the RAF's premier show. Waddington has never matched the show it replaced..Finningly. Having said that I have seen the likes of a real ME109G, Stealth fighter and B1 bomber at Waddo. For me arrivals day knocks spots off all the other days. I'l...

Re: Hawgsmoke 2008

What an awesome aircraft the A10 is...great shots....i remember the days when A10's used to fly up and down the Trent valley, tree top height and do mock attacks at RAF Finningley. Me too .. miss 'em Mark Agree with that used to be sitting on my back doorstep watching as they flew along the Trent.....

Anyone other than Bernard Chabbert..he does my head in...same old story about how the French really shot down so many Germans in the Battle for France, it lead to us winning the Battle of Britain  Also ban that screachy woman who did the Team Guinot commentary...aaagh!!!!
