Re: RIAT 2021 Participation and Discussion Thread

With RIAT weekend upon us and to rub some extra salt in some wounds (is that proper English? I bet it is for as far as Louis van Gaal is concerned!)

Re: EURO 2020 - For Fast Jets - THE FINAL

18 all

Of course the real final should have been RAF Tac Demo Herc vs Italian G222.

Now that would have been a tough call

Re: Air Tattoo 50th Anniversary

Just one thing I don't understand: In Airshow (the book about RIAT '98) Paul Bowen was single, now his son is a BA captain. That is from not existing to captain for one of the bigger airlines in the world in less than 23 years... Sorry, I don't believe this. Not everybody is as talented as Ellie Car...

RAFCTE needs to get some accurate information out asap regarding your three points.
About C: when we were offered the choise between refund or roll over after the '21 call off, we were told that those that already rolled over from '20 would get '22 for '20 prices,

Re: Virtual Air Tattoo

Does anyone know if there are any plans afoot for another Virtual Air Tattoo for this year? From the CEO's message about the cancellation: It is particularly disappointing to have to announce the cancellation of the airshow this year as everyone was looking forward to marking the Air Tattoo's 50th ...

Re: Aerobatic Smoke

So it is not about the smoke in general, but about colouring the smoke? Well, the colours the teams are looking for are mostly the colours of their national flag. As most teams that are using coloured smoke are military (I can't think of any non-military one in Europe, and that is the continent stre...

If you really want a decent helpful answer, you'll have to consider the question you ask. Something like your post gives an impression that you have to figure something out which you are not interested in yourself but you have to do it for someone (or something) else. So, what is the question you ha...

Re: Duxford Airshows 2021

Very disappointing though that so many did not turn up. Perhaps sooner rather than later, Duxford could announce an arival time limit for members to arrive by on the day and if you do not arrive by a certain time, your ticket will be resold at the gate. How would you deal with people that are stuck...

I've seen the word piracy used in the media and it sounds right to me.... State terrorism is another one being used. I wonder who thought up the bomb alert, probably Lukashenko himself? An aircraft probably registered in a NATO member state (going by the operator) flying from a NATO member state to...

No.

Why would you announce a date at which the conversion to a new type will start for a unit, when you disband that unit before that date?

- Dutch Cougar, I thought they were quite safe for now, as they have been assigned a new role only a few years ago (although working with the special forces might make them less available for airshows) My main wish would be for the show to go ahead without too many changes from 2019 in terms of lay...

It's a shame they don't do DVDs of the Virtual Air Tattoo. I'd love it for my collection and would snap it up. I have 2002-2019. There will be a gap in years now between 2019 and whenever RIAT returns (Hopefully 2022) which will be a nightmare for my OCD. lol. The VAT can still be seen online. Mayb...

Fairford and Legends entries confirmed but “TBD” I would guess it will be the F-16, and maybe the HF, just because last show the plan didn't work as planned, like we had with the F-22 in the past (I try to mention a try again), and of course the F-16 is already available in Europe from either Spang...

First one was Le Bourget '89 (An-225 with Buran, MiG-29), Last one till now was Zeltweg in '19.

In between, airshows took me as far North as Lulea, as far West as Landivisiau and as far South and East as Kish Island.

I´m not going to count how many shows I´ve been to in total, sorry for that.
