Re: FRIAT 2025 Renewals

Yeah, Monday only tickets would have sold like hot cakes! And they'd have been left with 1500+ weekend tickets. Not a great marketing strategy! No, because that would have been the normal Mach 1 FRIATers' seats. It would have been filling empty seats which could have brought in some extra revenue. ...

Re: FRIAT 2025 Renewals

It’s a shame there isn’t a way of sharing a FRIAT ticket, as I’d be really interested in the Thursday/Friday/Monday but no interest in the weekend show days! During the Mach 1, 2 and 3 days I always thought it was stupid to not sell the Mach 1 and 2 seats for the days that were not in the 1 and 2 p...

Re: Sanicole 2025

How are you guys travelling to get there? I've never been to Sanicole before so I am currently planning on flying to Eindhoven, then by train to a hotel which will hopefully be somewhere close to Leopoldsburg Station (shuttle bus to the show from this location). Getting a train from Eindhoven to so...

Re: Event Identification - Help Requested

Can't find any show reports from either Greenham or Brize at scramble that matches the aircraft on any of the three pictures. As there are people walking very close to the aircraft that aren't looking as they have something to do there professionaly, I would think there is something American style g...

Was there ever a serious proposal for F-35s to be built in Israel? Do you have a credible source for your claim?

Re: F-35 “Kill switch” Discussion

Simples, there is no "kill switch", (might be hiccups with spares support of course), it is related to USA's apparently isolationism. Germany are somewhat concerned too. End of thread. But it will become a long running thread in here! 🤣 There is. Info is out in the open since Israel signe...

Well that’s not confusing at all….
Clear as deep blue skies. If for some reason Pardubice falls out, they plan to be at Cosford. If Pardubice goes ahead (why wouldn't it?) they are in the Czech Republic. (Disclaimer: that is if that info on european airshows is correct)

Re: Boeing F-47 Thread

At the time it is in the air Trump will be gone from the White House. Even some big republicans have been airing concerns he won't make it long after the mid-terms the last few days, with the democrats impeaching him immediately after that. Compare that with the normal time-frame of new military air...

First they ignore F-23
No. The YF-23 was the aircraft that lost the competition from the YF-22. If it had won, it would have become F-23, like the YF-=22 that is now the F-22.

Nice! Can't wait to give a listen to this one. I've grown up with hearing Ben at Riat and other shows. Always thought he is a very commentator. No. He is not only a commentator. Would be surprising if someone can live from what he gets for commentating at airshows, especially because airshows tend ...

Peter joked on the podcast about a drone ending the flying display on Saturday and orbiting Fairford overnight and starting the display on Sunday and I’m curious - could that actually be a possibility? Technically it shouldn't be a problem, as long as it takes enough fuel up on the Saturday. Also y...

It was already closed for a few years. To be honest, this thing was something in the waiting since it started, The man that is quoted in the article (name misspelled at all instances, it's Arno van der Holst, not Hoist) is the same person that was leading the Aviodome/Aviodrome during the era around...

If we are talking about commentators. Especially from the past has to be the Turkish Stars one.
Which one? The one from the 90s? Pity his "show" didn't work completely in English speaking countries, as he wasn't only murdering the English language, but also the local language.

Just mind that it is a few hours drive from Warsaw. Show tends to start early and end late, so maybe find some accomodation closer to the base. Thought that Poland had retired the Fulcrums and Fitters last year?

The quarantined Danish jet sits up at the far north eastern loop, too. I always thought it had just gone tech but this looks like it was put out of harms way - was it potentially a risk? From what I remember to have heard (think it was from a certain Peter Reoch) there were worries about the hydraz...

Both black boxes should have failed to record anything during the last four minutes of the flight, South Korean officials should have said after examinations of the CVR and FDR by the NTSB.

Both stopping at the same time? Sounds strange to me....

A few years ago there was a documentary serie about training in the RAF on the telly (don't remember which station, could even be it was not a UK one) that followed one class of new pilots. Most of them got their first posting on the F-35, and the one that was sent to the Typhoon was really disappoi...
