Re: Re: 48 Hour Photo Comp: Tonkas!

Thanks to all who took part. I've a few worthy of mention. Anoraks towed tonka was a clever and different angle I liked that. Dan did 2 good ones with his F3 and golden light GR4 spoiled by the sticker on it (not dan's fault!). Tomaz low angle head on I liked. Stuart 9 ship in golden light was good....

My choice is the mighty Fin itself the Panavia Tornado. Any version or country. It has been in service long enough to give a good range of schemes and special schemes. So 3 pics per entry should give a good range to pick from. https://i68.photobucket.com/albums/i23/ianfinch_photos/IMG_1315-may-a.jpg...

Thanks Paul, I am a bit stunned. Your subject at first glance looked simple. but had endless possibilities. I shall have a think and post soon. The obvious subject for me won't be the topic, although I have seen some decent Victor pics on here!

Brevet I am surprised you say its just a F1 thing outside of America. It is in all our sports and that of other country's and rightly so. Racism has to be removed from society. I think you would be wasted on BoJo team and btw I think the going rate is a peerage... :grinning: I agree it was Bottas on...

Re: F1 ( and other motorsports ) 2020

Have you thought of working for Trump Brevet? :grinning: I do apologise no one should be compered to the Trump mob! Bottas did have a brief look but he was out dragged to turn 3. Pirrelli did continue to make tyres that barely last. They said they would do 40 and one failed on 39 and 2 on 40. and th...

Re: F1 ( and other motorsports ) 2020

Yup in the speed traps last year it was all Ferrari. Vetel has been mentioned as a pink Mercedes driver next year. Which will be rough on Perez if true. FIA re wrote the rules when Red bull complained. DASS is legal because Merc went to the FIA and asked for a ruling, Red Bull contested that too, wh...

Re: F1 ( and other motorsports ) 2020

Ah its good to have you back Brevet! On the gravel yes it was all over the racing line, and the merc would have got back out easily without the stoppage. Le Clerc was put out right in front of cars, who all had to stop sharpish. Last season merc wasn't the fastest. Ferrari was. Which is the opinion ...

Paul great shots as usual, your statement in an earlier post on this being a end of an era moment rang so true. On the Bone incident I was in the friat enclosure ,we realise what was about to happen and I had only one shot left on my roll of film. I knew I had no chance to change in time so only got...

Re: F1 ( and other motorsports ) 2020

Don't know Mike. from the publicity from ferrari it was very much Le Clerc bias. I forgot to mention I was thrilled for Norris. I think we have a very good crop of younger drivers now. It was also good to see Mc Laren looking a competitive team again. This could be a very interesting season.

Re: F1 ( and other motorsports ) 2020

Agreed Red. The merc does look ahead. but I think the merc engine is still looking fragile. It smoked a lot in the practices in Barcelona. It still smokes not quite as bad on the works merc but does on the pink merc. sorry racing point. Reliability on it wasn't good yesterday. That said the rest all...

F-1 returns this weekend, and Lewis has been leading the way on Black diversity in the sport. Mercedes have supported him and gone one further with their cars running in new livery. It looks pretty good.

Hi Paul how obvious now side by side lol! Completely missed the ladders! Did you know when testing the avionic fits for the Tornado. They found a buccaneer fitted with them, was superior a lot argued the avionics should go into new build Buccs!

Hi Paul, nice picture of a great jet. I am lucky to still be able to work round 3 of these ladies and the thing that struck me is how big they actually are. The shots bring back good memories. Three for me. The first some may have briefly seen as I posted it for the close up, before realising the aircraft had to be moving DOH! Holloman AFB 2007, we spent 3 days with the F117 shortly before retirement. When I climb the ladder to take this shot my eye went straight to the skunk! No doubting...
