Yes to the Slovenian PC-9, a beautiful display (although I guess that depends in the pilot as much as anything, so hopefully it's either the same one or an equally good one this year.

Finally, his ID badge that he wore whilst onboard. It seems that he (or someone else) added the PO (for Petty Officer, his temporary rank) with a pin or similar. If anyone has any idea what the AI stands for I'd be grateful. American Identity?? The 'Meth' is for Methodist. Thanks for looking. https:...

And that's it. He stopped writing in this journal on the 26th. Not that much detail in a lot of the posts, but as someone who studied and has a love for history, that tells us almost as much about the personal experience of WW2 as the days when lots happened. Obviously I am biased but to me it's a f...

Monday June 19th: Moved into Southampton docks in the evening, about 1900hrs. Went ashore for a while to inquire about train home. Decided it wasn't worth losing ship. Got back to hear we were loaded and ready to sail. Good job I didn't go home. Tuesday June 20th: Remained in Solent all day waiting ...

Looking at their website they will arrive on Thursday and have Training/Validation on Friday. Can they validate a display on a public show day? Pretty sure this is a discussion that has happened before!! Displays can be validated "off site" can't they? It's a bit late to be doing it in fr...

A D-Day Journal
Hi everyone As some of you will remember from previous posts, my maternal Grandfather was in the (R)OC during WW2. As part of this role, he was 'seconded' into the Royal Navy as a Seaborne Observer for the Normandy landings in 1944. Recently, my aunt came across his personal log book / journal that ...

Re: RIAT 2024 - discuss most things thread
Plus it adds a bit of a buzz within the aviation enthusiast community, which can only be good. The teams themselves sometimes self confirm weeks ahead of DBH (who for good reason hold off until all the Is are dotted and ts crossed). Anyway, if it was a super secret keep it under wraps kind of thing ...

Re: RIAT 2024 - discuss most things thread
The German NH90 display team has put out a post on their Instagram which has them listed as attending RIAT this year. Edit... That has since been deleted! Its a very good demo, but we do need the Tiger before they are consigned to the bin. (apologies wishlisting but more in reference to the NH90) T...

Re: Ace ?
I just think it's quite cool that the first US ace since Vietnam was flying a Harrier, rather than one of these new fangled F-15s or some other bolshy fast pointy thing. But Harriers are fast, and nowadays they are also pointy? He he...I'd like to think it just sat in the hover behind ...

A decent update for sure. still holding out for swiss participation though. also surprising that the swedish didn't announce this week. Yes, a nice update (although as Caper says perhaps not 'amazing'). I'm not sure why it's surprising that the Swedish didn't announce this week - I'm sure they will...

Re: UK Heritage Aviation Trust
Are there not legal implications if you don't raise the money within a certain timeframe on these sites - ie you have to give back what you have raised. I'm pretty sure that's the case with crowdfunding anyway. Although I guess if the only money that's been put in is your own it doesn't count...
