Re: Miami 2020

Fantastic photos Chris. The shutter speed on some of those for such long focal length is relatively slow, cracking job getting them so pin sharp - well done . I really need to get back there when all this Covid issue is over and done with

Re: RIAT 2020

Sadly , I think folk are going to need to prepare for an update of the negative type , the way things are developing with the Covid-19 situation, I would expect a cancellation scenario for RIAT this year. Hope I am 100% wrong though . That will be my hotel money down the drain if it is canned .........

ADSB Exchange

Anybody else struggling to view the new ADSB Exchange TAR1090 map , all I can see is letters (buttons) to press and no damn map.

I can see the old version on a separate link but the new page is just a non reactive frozen screen :dizzy:

Re: Another Robbery at BHX

Visited that elevated area of the NCP car park for the first time last year , not bad , bit rough facility wise , and an unfortunate whiff in some areas of the car park "of what I suspect was weed " - may be some other activities going on at nocturnal times perhaps. Or it could just have b...

On holiday in Florida , the drone of turboprops and a bulbous silver and white shape high in the sky - on grabbing my binoculars the NASA Super Guppy passed high overhead.

Re: RIAT 2020

I'd rather have nil trivia updates and wait in anticipation for the aircraft updates , at the moment its all very underwhelming.... especially when the sales strategy has been a hard sell.... bombarding the public to commit as early as possible to alleviate increased ticket costs. Quote "yes, j...

Crikey - superb content even though some of the types are non flyers , and thanks for sharing - that line up makes RIAT look decidedly bland

Re: Royal International Air Tattoo 2019 Reviewed

A fairly honest review by Sam , at least it was an event and not a "non event". A good show but not a "classic" , this show will be remembered for a number of reasons by everyone in their own retrospective ways

Re: BBC Planespotting live....

If you learn one new fact from watching a program like this - then it's a result I suppose . Each to their own. I flamed the show on the initial episode , and then watched the following 2 just to see if it improved , have to admit it did in some minor respects ,I enjoyed seeing the memorabilia folk/...

Re: RIAT 2019

JJC and Rockford , I have the same feeling. End of the week , only used one memory card for photos at RIAT and that's only at below 25% capacity of the card. Not buzzing this year post event and to be honest the number of photo threads in the airshow section of this forum on the event seems to be we...

Just had the email about £5 off for Friday 2020 tickets due to this years issues , not enough incentive that to be honest...... Okay here we go , I've donned my tin hat and flak jacket .......... having attended RIAT for in excess of 20 years as previous FRIAT Members but haven't been "FRIATers" for the past 3 years , sadly got caught with the previous couple of "FRIAT early sell out frenzies" and missed ...

Re: BBC Planespotting live....

Luckily I missed that bit - just saw him at Heathrow in the last 30 mins , assume at Myrtle Avenue - he did appear to get his Boeings and his Airbus variants mixed up at the time ...... always find it amazing when someone who has a PPL/CPL or ATPL can't actually distinguish between aircraft types.

Blimey - watched it for the last 30 mins , I had to wear a paper bag over my head with eye holes cut out so nobody would associate me with the hobby. This sort of dross gives genuine enthusiasts a bad reputation. Initially appears disjointed in presentation , Peter Snow great in his day but past his...
