Re: Lee on Solent Airfield December 2014...19th Update

Been quiet here in Clacton to, apart from a 10 mins last weekend when 3 RV-9s from North Weald done a low approach in formation, followed just after by a SAR sea king whose op had been scrubbed, awesome sound at 100ft just out the window! Roll on next year when things pick up, enjoy the holidays! Josh

I was looking out the window for a while to try and figure out what it was, just assumed it was a firework. I guess we will never know what it may have been.

Re: Autumn sun at Rochester 3-10-14

Nice photos, so that's where KP was on Friday, by the time I got to clacton airfield it had been tied down for the night. It then had a busy Saturday morning finding clear areas to operate, sadly the afternoon was scrapped by the rain and wind.

Re: My attempt at Clacton

Nice crisp photos you must have been very close to me. My shutter speed was at 1/2500 to so had the same results as you, me and the camera were not getting along. Had to reset settings and spend and hour or so on Saturday morning getting it back to the way I used to have it.

Re: Clacton Airshow 2014

No surprise to see that the show has set new records!
Over 200,000 people!! previously around 140,000.
Generated £5 million for the local economy with previous years have generating around £4 million.

Good job by the organisers and hope next year will just as good if not better.

Another highly enjoyable day, now at home wathching what ever visiting aircraft came in leave! 2 lancasters Vulcan and Typhoon the obvious highlights, a single Pitts and wingwalkers took me back to the days of the Road Angel Pitts and Crunchie team! Thanks for some info tutordisplay, I understand that it's out of the pilots hands, that would answer for the Tucano and BBMF also, the trainer formation was something different and looked like the wind was blowing you both around abit.

Really enjoyed the show today, I frozen when the 2 lancs appeared and a few more times during the display, that sound I will never forget. I've never seen a tutor display so close. Rich Goodwin was really good and enjoyable to watch.

Re: Clacton Airshow 2014

1) I was using 500mm and had to zoom out so you should be fine. 2) chairs are fine, no restrictions of any sort on the pier. 3) got onto the pier at 10:45 today and just got a front row seat so anytime before. 4) if you go right to the end you get a great view of everything! And it's not as cramped ...
