RAF Marham 15/05/2018

A quick trip up to Marham after work tonight due to them flying lates this week. With a forecast for winds favouring 06 it was time to see if i could get a few banking turns with aircraft in the visual circuit. That of course relies on two things - them actually being in the visual circuit and them ...

USMC and USN at Phoenix-Mesa Gateway

A recent trip to the US gave my first chance to visit Phoenix-Mesa Gateway airport in Arizona. Often used by transiting military, the previous few days had seen a USMC exercise in the area with a number of assets deploying to the airport. By the time we got there however (due to our roadtrip schedul...

Shark Mouth RC-135U 64-14847 at RAF Mildenhall

Well, my luck of catching interesting movements this year seems to be working! With a few days camped at Mildenhall and knowing that the RC-135U 64-14847 was in, I hoped to catch it in action on at least one day. After heading to work on Tuesday when it disappeared on a mission, my hopes were plante...

RAF Mildenhall 25/03 - The Redhawks arrive!

A rare chance at a free weekend for the first time in a long while and, with forecast good weather, i headed over to Mildenhall to see what could be caught. Unknown to me was the scheduled visit of 8 x F-15C of the 142nd Fighter Wing, Oregon Air National Guard for a night stop whilst on their way ho...

366th FW stop off at Lakenheath

Today saw the arrival of a pair of F-15E's operated by the 366th Fighter Wing out of Mountain Home, Idaho. These had been tanked westbound by ROMA51 which departed from and returned to Mildenhall. Seems like these jets have certainly been active on missions judging by the markings. 1. The first jet ...

Re: Pitts S-2B G-DIII Air to Air

Eden Centre shot is nice, but last one is definitely best. Have shot from a Christen Eagle so know how hard this is.Especially to get a shot with no wing or strut in it so well done. Wing, strut and rigging - very few places to find a clear shot when shooting forwards! Thanks for the comments guys

Pitts S-2B G-DIII Air to Air

Not sure which section to post these in as technically they were on the way to an airshow but have opted for this section instead. Once again this year i accompanied Wildcat Aerobatics on the trip from Norfolk to Culdrose. Much easier flying by Pitts, only just over 2 hours flight time as opposed to...

Hardwick Photography Event - The lovely Harvard

Been a while since i've posted on here (or many other places!) so thought i would post some shots from Hardwicks event on Saturday. The collections Harvard is by far one of my favourite aircraft in the UK therefore a thread dedicated to it. 1. https://farm9.staticflickr.com/8750/17177077956_9b71ea6c...

It may well be for a PdF orientation? First of the flight have arrived at Cambridge this morning and its not unusual for them to have a sighting flight before their display

Re: Northolt Night Photoshoot XV

A brilliant evening once again Phil. As said before, the extra platforms were a good addition. Everything seemed to run for a little extra time as well, especially the Herc, sp was more than enough to get plenty of angles. Calendars look just a good as i imagined, very good value and still chuffed t...

Seething Charity Airday 2013

On Sunday Seething airfield held its annual charity air day. Weather was brilliant in the morning but, typically, clouded over for the display with also a torrential downpour complete with thunderstorm slap bang in the middle of the afternoon as one of the highlights was about to start displaying. S...

Is this the same or seperate to the East Kirkby organised photographers events that they hold? Those events offer seemingly exactly the same as you are for less than half the price (at least for the last one i went to anyway) ?

Hi Jonny7 Indeed, it was obvious to all that were there that you were riled and obviously there is some history there between you. I'm sure however that you can understand the point of view that was given that if you were allowed over the rope to take a photo then what was to stop the rest of the gr...

Re: Hardwick

Disappointing to hear the attitude you mention. Must say, it's the first I've heard of anyone at Hardwick being anything other than friendly? I don't think the full story is being told here. Maurice Hammond did actually explain that, as the access was to the 'live' side of the rope, it was not poss...

Re: KLM Fokker 70 circling over Norfolk ?

Yesterday evening (22nd) the 7pm KLM flight out of Norwich returned after takeoff due to landing gear issues (couldn't retract). It was using the same callsign - KLM7311 - so it may well just have been on an air test

Re: Airshow Nightshoot [Market Research]

seems an odd decision to only limit to Cosford Club members in my opinion. I wonder how many that have expressed interest on here had also intended to be club members? With club membership at £55 and another 20-25 (based on the comments here) it totals up quite quickly to a not insignificant amount
