Re: Flying Legends 2021 - 10th & 11th July at Sywell (Merged)

Leeds East/Church Fenton I would prefer logistically, 1700m runway, more grass for parking, M1 close etc.

Re: BA retires entire Boeing 747 fleet

Here we go again. Duxford runway is 1503m. That is fine to land an empty 747 as evidenced goodness knows how many times...Kemble, Rand, Cambridge etc. Im sure the M11 would be stopped for 5 mins to avoid distractions, don't know what the pcn (that's pavemement classification number) is for Duxford b...

Re: BA retires entire Boeing 747 fleet

Duxford runway is 1503m, beyond the displaced threshold (which exists for the M11 and could be used if the motorway was stopped for 5 minutes) looks about 1350m. Rand is 1660m and it is adequately shown on the video how short the landing distance was of that 747 there. There are ample videos showing...

Duxford runway ample length to accept any airliner whatsoever. BDXJ is preserved at Dunsfold.

Re: Bruntingthorpe Closure?

Here is what it looked like today. That's a lot of cars to move but an empty Tristar wouldn't need the full length.

Re: Wonsan North Korea

Time of the month Beefy? I was booked on it, got refund on everything including flights out there. Unlike Iraq and Afghanistan it's actually a very safe place. But my post wasn't looking for anything, just informing those who may be interested. But thanks for your interest, do come again, arrive lat...

Cancelled. First the tour operator passed it to the NK organiser to continue with those already booked. Then the NK themselves cancelled the event.

Always a pleasure to have a reply like that, the latest news not always being available from the net...............

My guess is it is up there with the Tristars at Bruntingthorpe - will never leave the ground again.

Re: Museums in north east France

Thanks, I went there but couldn't be bothered going through every one of them to see where it was in France! So if anyone just happens to know of any N/NE of Paris that would help. What are the numbers by the names in brackets on that site? They aren't the number of airframes there - which would help.

Museums in north east France

I'll be on a trip back from Sinsheim/Speyer in January routing back to Calais. I want to take in any large museums not too far off that track, but already decided I'm going to route via Le Bourget! Any other collections on the way in the Metz/Reims/Amiens areas?
