Re: RAF Falcons question.....

On the subject of support aircraft, we're constantly told that the RAF transport fleet is stretched to the limit which is why the Falcons jump from civvy aircraft and the Red Arrows support drive around in a tatty old Transit. So, why doesn't the MoD procure say half a dozen Casa 295s? They could d...

If Monarch was in trouble! Why would a big airline like United send a 747 to be used?? Surely it would be European airlines and Easyjet offering passage flights etc.

No such issues with the Norwegian DAs, hence why we've just had the MiG-15 and Vampire pair in the UK for a month or two.

But will the CAA let a afterburning jet display in the UK?

Re: Two WWII fighters near Bournemouth 28/9/16.

Hurricane R4118 from Old Warden was over Bicester at about the same time as the Spitfires. Word is that they were filming for the new Transformers movie. Makes sense as they have been filming at Blenheim Palace recently and caused a bit of local fuss when they decorated it with huge swastika flags....

Hi all, I can confirm all went fairly well,Sam had a great time......He will miss it for sure! Re: Duxford September Airshow 2016- 10th and 11th September

The days of Duxford allowing a potentially unlimited number of people to turn up, along with all the resulting chaos that brings, are over. How many times has that happened though ? Twice? Both are legacies of either the two Lancasters and/or an amazing BoB show - were there others?? Can't recall E...

Re: Duxford September Airshow 2016- 10th and 11th September

Yeah I think mass Spitfire formations should be saved for Battle of Britain avnnverisy airshows, they done this I believe because they've not been able to get anything modern in 80th anniversary of the Spitfire's first flight seems like a good reason to me. Should been the may show then But that ma...

Because of the strong winds and there was no hangar at Bournemouth available for it to go in, they decided it would be better that they returned to RAF Coningsby.
