Each to their own. Having a Stag in the centre of 788's sights was too good to resist though!
Of course, I've owned my fair share of MG's that at one time or another I could have happily given the 20mm treatment to!

Cheers Tony. Being on the 'other side' for an event such as this offers the opportunity to share images taken from a very different viewpoint to the norm!

Thanks gents...!
Next big job when we have a day with enough bodies in will be putting the nose back on. We'll be needing all the fortitude we can muster for that one!

YAM Buccaneer Day Event Evening/Nightshoot
As mentioned over in the Meteor thread, we were involved in YAM's celebration of the 30th(!) anniversary of the Buccaneer retirement from RAF service. The following is a selection of shots from the photoshoot aspect of the event on Buccaneers XN974, XV168, and XX901. Please bear in mind these are ju...

Well, I'm so far behind on updates! Blame the day job... Anyway, spanning a couple of weekends, here is... 15/04/2024 Update Casting my mind back to the weekend before last, and the joys of the preparation and delivery of the Buccaneer Day event. I was in on the Friday afternoon, and was still on wi...

Re: A-W Meteor NF.14 WS788 Restoration Project
I still need to get round to putting up a post from this weekend! Work has again run me ragged.
The Flypast post will be in this month's News section of the mag, with a full article on 788 to follow after the 70th birthday 'do' for the jet hopefully.

Cheers Pete! Priorities and all that...! Maybe we need an A-W Main Dealer sign for the stores area...!
Re the damper, that was my thinking too. At some point way down the line a seal kit should see it right.

Re: A-W Meteor NF.14 WS788 Restoration Project
Great update as always and with regard to the Buccaneers, there can't be many museums that have as many as YAM have, just a shame they are currently outside! With regard to the inventory listing, is there a reason you are cataloguing everything on paper, rather than as a spreadsheet? Curiousity nee...

Re: A-W Meteor NF.14 WS788 Restoration Project
As proven last week Zac, I don't always have time to get a write-up written up! I do try though. The absolute madness that has been the day job over the last couple of months is coming down to more sensible levels now with the pre-Easter rush subsiding, meaning I'm starting to have time for life awa...

What you're not taking into account is the amount of the glass' content we had already supped between bar and table Tony! The landlord is scrupulous when it comes to not serving short measures. 20/03/2024 Update.... ...sort of. Saturday was YAM's first Thunder Day event of the year. While we weren't participating as a replacement air starter for the Buccaneer which we now normally crew running days for had not been sourced in time, our good friend Mike Davey had brought his Cheetah engine ...

We don't need to hide the jaffas in ammo bays. They are hidden in plain sight on the spares shelves!
